James Cromwell Arrested at SeaWorld Protest, Video Released

James Cromwell was arrested during a protest at SeaWorld in San Diego on Monday (July 24) and the incident was caught on video.

The 77-year-old Oscar-nominated actor interrupted the Orca Encounter show at the theme park while wearing a “SeaWorld Sucks” t-shirt and using a megaphone to speak to the audience. His supporters stood behind him holding signs that read “SeaWorld Kills.”

PETA live streamed the protest on its Facebook page and you can watch the footage below.

“Orcas deserve a full life in the ocean, not a life sentence of swimming endless circles until they drop dead from disease,” James said in a statement. “My friends at PETA and I want SeaWorld to move these intelligent animals to seaside sanctuaries without delay.”

James was handcuffed and taken into custody.

Last month, Cromwell was sentenced to seven days in jail after he refused to pay fines associated with an arrest during the protest of a power plant in upstate New York.
