Get to Know 'Batwoman' Actor Camrus Johnson with These 10 Fun Facts (Exclusive)

The series premiere of the new CW series Batwoman airs this weekend and we caught up with actor Camrus Johnson to learn more about him ahead of the premiere.

Camrus plays the role of Luke Fox on the new show opposite Ruby Rose as the title character. This isn’t his first superhero show as he previously appeared in the Marvel series Luke Cage!

You might also remember Camrus from his role in the romantic drama The Sun is Also a Star, which was released back in may.

Here are 10 Fun Facts about Camrus Johnson:

• 1. Edamame is one if my all-time favorite snacks because it reminds me of when I used to shuck peas with my grandpa from his garden. What a southern boy fact.
• 2. I broke my ankle in my high school theater by jogging to the bathroom after a dress rehearsal before the school play. The amount of “break a leg” jokes was astounding.
• 3. I made an animated short for my dad, decided to submit it for festivals, and it just got nominated for the NFFTY 2019 Official Jury Award for best animated short…I didn’t even plan to submit it for festivals. Crazy.
• 4. My Granny used to pay me and my brothers to collect bags of pecans from her yard… the pecans kept falling as we were picking them up. It was a never-ending task but the money got us heaps of candy. Southern boy fact #2.
• 5. I sang an original song in the movie The Sun Is Also a Star, then released the song as my first single 2 weeks after the movie came out.

• 6. I was a caretaker for 4 years while starting my acting career at 18 years old.
• 7. I named my production company Moon Jelly Pictures because it’s a bioluminescent animal. One of my favorite memories is when I went swimming with bioluminescent phytoplankton while camping on the beach with 10 of my closest high school friends. Phytoplankton Productions just didn’t fall off the tongue as much, ya know.
• 8. Apple flavored desserts are my greatest weakness. Will do anything for them. Anything.
• 9. I won homecoming king in high school by dressing up as a grandma and dancing to the Wop, Wobble, Cat Daddy, Stanky Leg, and the Shuffle. Whatchall know ‘bout the Stanky Leg! (This one is for my grandkids to read one day.)
• 10. Rachel Skarsten from the Batwoman cast asked me to look after a dog she was fostering for a few days and I wouldn’t give it back for 2 whole weeks.
