Kim Kardashian Previously Warned Kanye West About Running for President for This Reason

Kanye West‘s announcement that he will be running for President of the United States in 2020 is not the first time that the rapper has talked about running for office.

The 43-year-old rapper has said many times in the past that he wants to be president and while his wife Kim Kardashian is seemingly supporting his candidacy right now, she has expressed her qualms about it in the past.

Back in September 2016, after Kanye had previously announced a 2020 bid, Kim was asked if she was prepared to be the First Lady.

Kim said at the time, “Look at all the awful things they’re doing to Melania [Trump], putting up the naked photos [of her]… I’ll say to Kanye: ‘Babe, you know the kind of photos they’d put up of me!’ Haha.”

At the time, Kim was also asked which party Kanye would run for. She told Wonderland, “I don’t wanna put words in his mouth, but I’m pretty sure the Democrats. Maybe independent? I don’t know how serious he is about it. We’ll see…”

So, would Kim herself ever want to run for office?

“No, I don’t think so,” she told The New York Times in March 2019. “It would be probably the most stressful job in the world, and I don’t think that’s for me.”
