Ellen DeGeneres & Portia de Rossi's Mansion Was Burglarized While They Were Home

Someone broke into Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi‘s home in Montecito, Calif. earlier this month and we just learned that the couple was actually inside the home when it happened.

TMZ is reporting that the break-in happened on July 4 and that the two stars were inside, but were not harmed. In fact, the burglar managed to get in and out of the home without even being detected.

The report says it’s unclear if Ellen or Portia had any contact with the suspect or suspects, but they now have improved the security measures at their home to make sure this never happens again.

The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office reported that the burglars stole high-value jewelry and watches.
