Grammys 2021 Postponed Due to Coronavirus

The 2021 Grammy Awards were supposed to take place on January 31, but unfortunately, the annual music awards show has been postponed due to the rising COVID-19 cases.

Variety confirmed that the show will not take place in January, and are saying they could potentially happen in March of 2021, but no date has been clearly set at this time.

The publication also cites that the Recording Academy and CBS have “faced many challenges in how safely to stage an event on the scale of the Grammys.” Usually, there are 18,000 people in attendance at music’s biggest night.

Coronavirus cases are surging across the country. At the time of this posting, Los Angeles county has seen 827,498 cases of Coronavirus and positive tests are trending upwards. The Grammys were supposed to take place in Los Angeles at the Staples Center.
