Katharine McPhee Reveals the Parenting Moment She's Not Looking Forward To

Katharine McPhee is opening up about motherhood.

The 36-year-old actress and singer spoke with fellow American Idol alum Kelly Clarkson about parenting her newborn baby boy Rennie on Monday (April 5).

Katharine welcomed her first child with husband David Foster in February and she told Kelly that she’s been loving motherhood so far!

“I’m a little bit tired here and there but I find time to nap and he’s such a good little baby and I’m so in love,” Katharine said. “I mean, you’re a mom. It’s my greatest job I’ll ever have.”

Kelly, who shares River Rose, 6, and Remington, 4, with ex Brandon Blackstock, pointed out one huge parenting milestone that Katharine should get ready for.

“I know it’s so cliché, but it will be the hardest,” Kelly said. “The hardest thing for me is when they’re so freaking cute and you love them so much but they’re doing something that’s naughty. And you’re like, ‘Nope! You will not twist me around your finger.’”

Katharine said that another friend had actually made a similar comment to her. “She was like, ‘Oh, can you even imagine that you’re gonna have to get mad at him one day?’” the actress remembered. “I’m like, ‘No! He’s so sweet right now, I can’t imagine.’”

“Trust me, it will happen,” Kelly said. “It will happen and you’ll go, ‘Whose child are you?’”

In another interview, Katharine shared why her husband is “annoyed” with her right now.
