Angelina Jolie in 'Those Who Wish Me Dead' - First Look Photos Released!

Angelina Jolie is taking on some huge challenges in her upcoming movie Those Who Wish Me Dead.

The 45-year-old actress plays a smoke jumper, which is a specially trained wilderness firefighter, grappling from the loss of three lives she wasn’t able to save from a fire.

The film is based on Michael Koryta’s novel of the same name about a 14-year-old boy who witnesses a brutal murder and is issued a false identity and hidden in a wilderness skills program for troubled teens while the killers slaughter anyone who gets in their way in a methodical quest to reach him. Angelina‘s character, Hannah, treks through the wilderness in order to protect him.

Angelina told People, “On its surface, the story feels like a thriller, with a lot of really interesting characters and a great adventure across unusual terrain, inside a great fire. But, underneath, it’s an emotional film about people who are thrown together to survive.”

The movie is directed by Oscar nominee Taylor Sheridan, best known for his work on the screenplay for Hell or High Water. The cast also includes Nicholas Hoult and Tyler Perry. Look for the film in theaters and on HBO Max on May 14, 2021.
