Meet Rish Shah, Marvel's Next Big Star, with These 10 Fun Facts! (Exclusive)

Rish Shah is a hot new star on the rise and we’re so excited to introduce our readers to him!

You might already know Rish from his role as Ravi in To All the Boys: Always and Forever and he’s starring in the upcoming film India Sweets and Spices, which debuts at the Tribeca Film Festival in June.

Rish is also going to be one of Marvel’s next big stars thanks to his role as Kamran in the highly anticipated Disney+ series Ms. Marvel, which is expected to be released later this year. It was also announced this week that Rish will be starring in the upcoming Netflix movie Strangers opposite Maya Hawke and Camila Mendes!

We caught up with Rish and learned 10 Fun Facts, which you can read below:

  1. I was born and raised in North London. I studied at King’s College London and got my Bachelors Degree in English Language and Linguistics.
  2. I made my professional stage debut playing Alan in Torch Song in London’s Turbine Theatre, alongside Jay Lycurgo. It’s strange how we are both playing Marvel and DC comic characters right now..
  3. I started driving mopeds from the age of 9 in India. I was so obsessed that I dreamed of becoming a Pizza Hut delivery man when I grew up.
  4. My first pilot season in LA somehow winded up with me screen testing for the Gossip Girl reboot… twice! Once with blonde hair and the second with black. It was a great learning experience.
  5. I can recite every line from Nacho Libre in my sleep. I have rewatched it hundreds of times and my love for that film grows stronger by the day. Nacho and Esqueleto give me strength and nutrients.

  1. I played Ravi in To All the Boys: Always and Forever. I was flying back and forth from Torch Song rehearsals in London to shoot my scenes, so I’m a jetlag pro now.
  2. As a kid I was afraid of sleeping in the dark, and my older sister would charge me rent to sleep in her room when I got scared. No surprise she’s a fierce business woman today.
  3. I filmed my role as Riz Ahmed’s younger brother in his short film The Long Goodbye on my birthday… best gift ever.
  4. I love road trips but I sleep through all of them.
  5. I’ve had the same best friend since the age of 4. We used to look and act exactly alike, to the point that my uncle got us mixed up. There’s a running joke that we were separated at birth… but he’s Greek Cypriot.
  6. Bonus Fact: I’ve always been a huge Marvel fan. My house is decorated with Funko-Pops and I wanted to work at Forbidden Planet, my favorite comic store in London whilst at University.

Make sure to check out Rish in India Sweets and Spices at the Tribeca Film Festival in June and watch out for his projects in the future!
