Nick Kamen, Levi's Model & Madonna Collaborator, Dies at 59
Nick Kamen has sadly died.
The British model and singer, known for a famous 1985 Levi’s ad, as well as collaborating with Madonna, passed away at the age of 59, a friend of the family confirmed to the PA Media news agency on Wednesday (May 5), via CNN.
The agency reported that Nick, born Ivor Neville Kamen, died Tuesday night (May 4) after a long illness.
He first rose to fame appearing on the cover of The Face in 1984 wearing lipstick, and assumed sex symbol status in the ’80s for a risque commercial for Levi’s 501, in which he stripped down to his boxers.

Nick also had a music career, collaborating with Madonna on “Each Time You Break My Heart” in 1986, which featured the icon on backing vocals and charted at No. 5 in the United Kingdom.
Famous friends including Duran Duran‘s John Taylor and Boy George posted tributes on social media to the late star: “R.I.P to the most beautiful and sweetest man Nick Kamen!,” Boy George wrote.
“So so sad to hear of the passing of Nick Kamen. One of the loveliest and gentlest men I ever met. He was a beloved friend to my daughter and her Mom. We shall all miss him. RIP Nick“- JT,” John wrote.
