'A Quiet Place 2' & 'Cruella' Are Box Office Hits - See Friday's Grosses!

Movie theaters are thriving once again thanks to the releases of A Quiet Place Part II and Cruella!

The two new movies were released in theaters on May 28 and both of them are on track to becoming box office hits.

A Quiet Place Part II outgrossed the first movie on opening day, despite the fact that many theaters are still closed and the ones that are open all have capacity restrictions.

The horror film grossed $19.3 million on Friday and it is projected to have a three-day gross of $47 million. It’s Memorial Day Weekend and the projected four-day gross is $57 million.

The first movie was released in 2018 and grossed $50.2 million in its three-day opening weekend, including $18.8 million on its first day.

Cruella, which is also available on Disney+ with Premium Access, grossed $7.7 million on Friday and it’s expected to earn between $27 million and $30 million throughout the four-day weekend, according to THR.
