Sterling presented the Hollywood Breakout Ensemble Award, while Michael presented the Hollywood Film Award to Black Panther director Ryan Coogler. Black Panther producer Nate Moore also took to the stage to accept the award.

Janelle Monae also attended the event, where she presented the Hollywood Breakout Performance Actress Award onstage to Amandla Stenberg.

The newcomer was honored with the New Hollywood Award for her work in the new movie Roma, which is coming soon to Netflix.

Roma is the new movie written and directed by Oscar winner Alfonso Cuaron and it’s a semi-autobiographical take on his upbringing in Mexico City. The movie won the Golden Lion award at the Venice Film Festival earlier this year and you can watch it on Netflix on December 14.

Also in attendance was Octavia Spencer, who presented the Hollywood Ensemble Award to the Green Book cast. Michael Keaton also presented an award to Green Book to Peter Farrelly, Nick Vallelonga and Brian Currie for the Hollywood Screenwriter award.

Also pictured on the red carpet at the event was Christian Slater, who presented the Hollywood Actress Award to Glenn Close.

Adam presented the Imagine Dragons frontman with the Hollywood Documentary Award for Believer.

Dan and ex-wife Aja Volkman teamed up for the documentary. Dan and Aja got married in March 2011 and they share three daughters. They announced that they were getting divorced in April 2018 after seven years of marriage, but they remain close friends.

Viggo and Mahershala co-star in Green Book, which was directed by Peter Farrelly. The cast won the Ensemble Award during the ceremony, while Peter won the Screenwriter Award.

Green Book follows a working-class Italian-American bouncer who becomes the driver of an African-American classical pianist on a tour of venues through the 1960s American South.

Justin Hurwitz, who wrote the score for the movie, won the Hollywood Composer Award.

Ryan previously worked with Damien on the movie musical La La Land.

The Hollywood Film Awards marks the kick off to awards season, which will end with the Oscars in February.
