Brayden Harrington, a 13-year-old from New Hampshire who overcame his stutter with help from Joe Biden, is being praised for his moving speech during the 2020 Democratic National Convention.

Moments before Biden accepted the Democratic presidential nomination, Brayden gave a two-minute speech that is being hailed as one of the most powerful moments of the entire convention.

Brayden talked about meeting Biden earlier this year and how the presidential nominee told him they’re “members of the same club.” He added, “we stutter.”

“It was really amazing to hear that someone like me would become vice president,” Brayden said. “He told me about a book of poems by Yeats he would read out loud to practice. He showed me how he marks his addresses to make them easier to say out loud. So I did the same thing today.”

“I’m just a regular kid, and in a short amount of time, Joe Biden made me more confident about something that’s bothered me my whole life,” he said while concluding the speech. “Joe Biden cared. Imagine what he can do for all of us.”

The Democratic nominees for president and vice president were joined by their spouses Jill Biden and Douglas Emhoff, respectively.

During the final night of the convention, Biden accepted the nomination for president and he gave a powerful speech in which he laid out his plans for the presidency.

“The current president has cloaked America in darkness for much too long. Too much anger. Too much fear. Too much division. Here and now, I give you my word: If you entrust me with the presidency, I will draw on the best of us not the worst. I will be an ally of the light not of the darkness,” Biden said.

He added, “It’s time for us, for We the People, to come together. For make no mistake. United we can, and will, overcome this season of darkness in America. We will choose hope over fear, facts over fiction, fairness over privilege.”

Biden slammed Trump during the speech.

“Our current president has failed in his most basic duty to this nation. He failed to protect us. He failed to protect America. And, my fellow Americans, that is unforgivable. As president, I will make you this promise: I will protect America. I will defend us from every attack. Seen. And unseen. Always. Without exception. Every time,” Biden said.

After the speech, Biden, Harris, and their spouses went to an outdoor stage and watched a fireworks show while supporters stayed in their cars in a drive-in theater setup.

Joe Biden is receiving lots of praise for the speech that he just gave while accepting the Democratic presidential nomination during the 2020 Democratic National Convention.

The former Vice President of the United States gave his speech on Thursday (August 20) at the Chase Center in Wilmington, Delaware.

Joe was joined on stage by his wife Jill Biden at end of his speech.

During his speech, Joe asked voters to “choose hope over fear, facts over fiction, fairness over privilege.”

He added, “This campaign isn’t just about winning votes, it is about winning the heart and, yes, the soul of America.”

Joe also talked about Trump‘s handling of the coronavirus pandemic.

“It didn’t have to be this bad,” he said, adding that the president “keeps waiting for a miracle.”

“I have news for him. No miracle is coming,” he added. “Our current President has failed in his most basic duty to the nation. He has failed to protect us, he has failed to protect America.”

Cory Booker revealed something about his girlfriend Rosario Dawson that might surprise you!

The New Jersey senator made an appearance on night four of the 2020 Democratic National Convention and said that Rosario likes Bernie Sanders more than him.

“Why does my girlfriend like you more than me?” Cory said while chatting with all of the former presidential candidates.

Bernie replied, “She’s smarter than you.”

Just a couple months ago, Rosario provided an update on her relationship with Cory and she opened up about the big step that they’re currently taking.

Back in March, Rosario said that she voted for Bernie in the 2020 Democratic presidential primary after Cory decided to drop out of the race. She was also a surrogate for Bernie‘s campaign during the 2016 presidential election.

Julia Louis-Dreyfus is the host of the fourth and final night of the 2020 Democratic National Convention and she made some digs at President Trump while moderating the evening.

The Veep actress praised her friend Joe Biden throughout the evening and also referenced how protestors were tear-gassed moments before Trump visited a church next to the White House.

“Joe Biden goes to church so regularly that he does not even need tear gas and a bunch of federalized troops to help him get there,” she said.

Julia also predicted what Trump will say in reaction to her jokes.

“Tonight I couldn’t be prouder to be a loyal union member, a passionate climate activist and patriotic Democrat. Or as Donald Trump will call me in a tweet tomorrow: A washed-up, horse-faced no talent has-been that has low ratings. Well with all due respect, sir, it takes one to know one,” she said.

Julia encouraged viewers to text VOTE to 30330 for information on how to vote and she said it’s an easy number to remember because “that’s the year Donald Trump will finally release his tax returns.”

Kamala Harris, the current Democratic vice presidential candidate, tweeted her praise for Julia.

The Chicks, the country music group formerly known as the Dixie Chicks, performed the National Anthem during the final day of the 2020 Democratic National Convention and it was definitely a significant moment.

You might remember that the group caused a ton of controversy back in 2003 when lead singer Natalie Maines told the audience at their London concert that they were “ashamed” that then President George W. Bush was from Texas.

The moment happened just days before the invasion of Iraq, which the band said they did not support. As a result of the comment, the band was blacklisted by thousands of country music stations and they received death threats. Natalie apologized for the remark and said it was disrespectful, but she rescinded the apology three years later and said Bush didn’t deserve respect.

The Chicks made a comeback in 2006 with their song “Not Ready to Make Nice” and they won five Grammys the next year, including Album of the Year, Song of the Year, and Record of the Year.

It’s significant to see the group performing the National Anthem at the DNC as they also performed the song at the Super Bowl in 2003, weeks before the controversy that sidelined their career.

Natalie has been vocal with her criticism of Donald Trump and his administration’s response to the coronavirus pandemic. She said, “It is crazy that we have a leader that is — I mean, it’s murder… It’s second-degree murder.”
