Jake Gyllenhaal is opening up about the cool connection that he has to actor Andrew Burnap, who won their category at the Tony Awards last month.

Jake and Andrew were both nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for their work in Sea Wall/A Life and The Inheritance, respectively.

The award went to Andrew and his show also won several other awards, including Best Play and Best Director of a Play.

While being interview on The Howard Stern Show on Tuesday (October 5), Jake talked about how he has known Andrew for years.

Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel reunited for a performance from their musical Wicked at the Tony Awards this weekend and fans are so happy to see them back together!

The former co-stars performed the song “For Good” at the Tony Awards Presents: Broadway’s Back event on Sunday (September 26) at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City.

It has been nearly 18 years since Wicked first came to Broadway and over 17 years since Kristin‘s final performance. For those who don’t know, Idina stayed with the show for an additional six months and then reprised her Tony-winning role of Elphaba in London.

After the show, both Kristin and Idina shared sweet messages for each other on Twitter.

A lot of moments that happened at the 2020 Tony Awards weren’t seen on the live television feed, but thankfully there were some cameras backstage to capture lots of great photos!

So many Broadway legends stepped out to attend the event on Sunday (September 26) at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City.

Even though we’re in 2021, this is actually the 2020 Tony Awards because it’s the ceremony delayed from June 2020. The awards show honored the best of Broadway’s 2019-20 season!

Stars like Kristin Chenoweth, Ben Platt, Anika Noni Rose, and Beanie Feldstein were seen meeting up backstage at the show and we also have photos of winners coming off stage moments after accepting their awards.

Paramount+ streamed the two-hour Tony Awards ceremony at 7pm ET and CBS then aired a two-hour primetime special, The Tony Awards Present: Broadway’s Back!, at 9pm ET.

Tom Hiddleston and Zawe Ashton just made their first official appearance together as a couple!

The 40-year-old actor and the 37-year-old actress walked the red carpet separately, but they posed together while inside the theater at the 2020 Tony Awards on Sunday (September 26) at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City.

Tom and Zawe met while starring in the 2019 Broadway revival of the play Betrayal. They have been rumored to be dating since they show ended and we finally got confirmation when they shared a steamy PDA session at the beach earlier this month.

Tom was nominated for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Play for his work in the play, which was also up for Best Revival of a Play.

FYI: Zawe wore a Carolina Herrera dress, Nickho Rey earring and Nicole Rose earring.

Adrienne Warren won the Tony Award tonight for her performance in Tina – The Tina Turner Musical and her performance during the event shows everyone why she deserved the trophy.

The 34-year-old actress performed a medley of songs from the musical during the Broadway’s Back portion of the night on Sunday (September 26) in New York City.

Adrienne and the cast of Tina performed live from the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre, where the musical is performed nightly. The show will return to Broadway on October 8 and Adrienne is only doing a few weeks of performances before she departs the cast.

At the Tonys, Adrienne performed a medley of “We Don’t Need Another Hero,” “Simply the Best,” and “Proud Mary.”

Freestyle Love Supreme is closing out the 2020 Tony Awards with a super fun performance!

Lin Manuel-Miranda, Utkarsh Ambudkar, Tarik Davis, Christopher Jackson, James Monroe Iglehart, Leslie Odom, Jr, Wayne Brady, Aneesa Folds, and Chris Sullivan all took to the stage for the final performance of the night on Sunday (September 26) at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City.

For their performance, the group rapped a freestyle of everything that happened during the night in under 4 minutes.

Lin-Manuel established Freestyle Love Supreme with Anthony Veneziale and Thomas Kail several years ago before the show ran on Broadway for a few months back in late 2019.

Freestyle Love Surpreme is set to make its return to Broadway starting on October 7, followed by a national tour starting in San Francisco.

Audra McDonald and Brian Stokes Mitchell gifted us with one of the most memorable moments of the night during The Tony Awards Presents: Broadway’s Back.

The former Ragtime co-stars and fellow Tony Award winners performed a song from the show on Sunday night (September 26) at the Winter Garden Theatre in New York City.

Audra and Brian originated the roles of Sarah and Coalhouse Walker Jr. in the 1997 Broadway production of Ragtime. For those who don’t know, Lea Michele was also in the cast when she was just 11 years old!

At the Tonys concert, Audra and Brian gave a powerhouse performance of the duet “Wheels of a Dream” and it’s sure to give you goosebumps.
