Nearly 20 years after its release, Mean Girls remains a classic teen movie that viewers continue to reference. It’s just that fetch!

The movie’s hold on us hasn’t loosened an ounce, and we even recently saw most of the castmates get back together again to film a nostalgia-inducing tribute to the hit.

What made the movie a hit? Aside from an iconic script, the cast was also a very grool (great and cool combined, if you need a reminder) group made of rising stars and established talent.

Many of them have gone on to enjoy lengthy careers in Hollywood and have amassed impressive fortunes while doing so.

Amanda Seyfried, Rachel Zegler, and Joe Manganiello were among the celebs on the red carpet at the 2023 CNN Heroes: An All-Star Tribute event on Sunday (December 10) at the American Museum of Natural History in New York City.

The event, hosted by Anderson Cooper and Laura Coates, aired live on CNN.

Each Top 10 CNN Hero was awarded $10,000 and the CNN Hero of the Year received an additional $100,000 to continue their life-changing work. Dr. Kwane Stewart, who cares for the pets of those experiencing homelessness, is CNN’s Hero of the Year.

Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfied and Lacey Chabert grounded the cast as the members of The Plastics – teen royalty of North Shore High School.

They were joined in the movie by other talented young actors such as Jonathan Bennett, Daniel Franzese and Lizzy Caplan alongside comedy legends Tina Fey and Amy Poehler.

In 2023, the cast is forever associated with the characters that they played in the movie. However, Mean Girls almost looked very different.

For starters, the three of The Plastics auditioned for other parts in the movie before they were finally cast. Several other actresses were also in the running for parts, and an A-list actor up to play Jonathan‘s character Aaron Samuels.

There was also a rumor linking a Marvel superstar to the movie, that we finally got an answer to years later.

After most of the cast got back together to film a commercial for Walmart, we did some digging to see what the cast might have looked like.

Lindsay Lohan and more of her Mean Girls co-stars are spilling on getting the gang back together again to film a commercial for Walmart.

If you missed it, earlier this week Lindsay, Amanda Seyfried and Lacey Chabert got into character as Cady, Karen and Gretchen in the commercial, which revealed what all three women had done with their lives since the movie.

They were joined by fellow co-stars Daniel Franzese and Rajiv Surendra, who played Damian and Kevin Gnapoor, respectively!

Now that we’ve all had time to bask in the glory of the totally fetch commercial, its stars are opening up about the chance to reunite.

Several of the Mean Girls cast have reunited for a fun Walmart commercial!

Three of the 4 original “Mean Girls,” Lindsay Lohan, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert, all participated. In this commercial, which parodied the original film, Cady is back as a guidance counselor, Karen is still a very reliable weather girl, and Gretchen is now a stage mom!

Daniel Franzese‘s Damian and Rajiv Surendra‘s Kevin Gnapoor can also be seen.

“Some things never change. On Wednesdays we wear pink, but now we shop Walmart Black Friday deals,” Lindsay can be heard saying in a voiceover.

You may notice that Rachel McAdams‘ Regina George is totally absent. We now know why.
