Ruth Negga & Rebecca Hall Bring 'Passing' To London's BFI Festival

Ruth Negga is pretty in pink for the premiere of Passing during the 2021 BFI London Film Festival at The Curzon Mayfair on Sunday (October 10) in London, England.

The 39-year-old actress joined co-stars Rebecca Hall and Andre Holland, as well as producer Margot Hand at the event. Rebecca also directs the pic.

Check out pics from the New York premiere here!

During a recent appearance on Late Late Show in Dublin, Ruth opened up about how the new movie is generating Oscar buzz.

“It’s lovely to hear,” she said. “I don’t know anyone who does their job for the Oscar, but it’s a lovely thing to be acknowledged by your peers.”

Ruth, who has been nominated for the Best Actress Oscar for Loving, added she found the award ceremony to be very overwhelming.

“It’s very overwhelming,” she says. “It’s so different to acting because, while there is a certain amount of surrender, you do have an awful lot of control – but with this thing you don’t. And the scrutiny is uncomfortable.”

FYI: Ruth wore a Carolina Herrera candy pink puff sleeve dress. Andre is wearing Ermenegildo Zegna.

The Trailer for Netflix's 'Passing' Puts the Star-Studded Cast on Display - Watch Now!

The trailer for Passing is finally here!

Adapted from the celebrated 1929 novel of the same name by Nella Larsen, Passing tells the story of two Black women, Irene Redfield (Tessa Thompson) and Clare Kendry (Academy Award nominee Ruth Negga), who can “pass” as white but choose to live on opposite sides of the color line during the height of the Harlem Renaissance in late 1920s New York. After a chance encounter reunites the former childhood friends one summer afternoon, Irene reluctantly allows Clare into her home, where she ingratiates herself to Irene’s husband (André Holland) and family, and soon her larger social circle as well. As their lives become more deeply intertwined, Irene finds her once-steady existence upended by Clare, and PASSING becomes a riveting examination of obsession, repression and the lies people tell themselves and others to protect their carefully constructed realities.

Alexander Skarsgard, Bill Camp, Gbenga Akinnagbe, and Antoinette Crowe-Legacy also star.

The film hits select theaters on October 27 and will debut on Netflix on November 10.
