There have been so many casting updates for The Last of Us season 2!

If you don’t know, season one of the hit HBO drama debuted in January of 2023 to massive success, and fans have been eager for season two updates. Now, we have several.

There are 4 returning cast members from season one, and we now know who will portray the pivotal roles of Abby, Dina, and more.

The TV show is based off of the hit video game series, so you may or may not be familiar with a bunch of these character names if you’ve played the games!

The cast for the second season of The Last of Us is really coming together!

HBO’s show starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey became a breakout success when it premiered in 2023. The Hollywood strikes slowed down production on the second season, but we’ve gotten a lot of exciting casting news in 2024.

On Friday (March 1), it was revealed that four more actors had joined the series.

The new series Rebel premieres tonight on ABC and we caught up with one of the stars, Ariela Barer, to learn more about her!

The 22-year-old actress plays Ziggie, a recovering teen addict, in the new series that is inspired by the life of Erin Brockovich.

Ariela is best known for playing Gert on Hulu’s Marvel series Runaways and she can also be seen in the Hulu movie The Ultimate Playlist of Noise.

Get to know Ariela with these 10 Fun Facts:

1. I grew up in LA, raised by Mexican Jewish parents. I used to self identify as a Mexi-jew.
2. I grew up playing piano, guitar, bass, drums, ukulele and briefly cello! Then I was in a punk band for most of high school where I played bass and sang.
3. I recently wrote and directed my first short film Jelly about the exploitation of social movements for personal gain. Coming out sooooon!
4. I’m a Scorpio rising which apparently “makes a lot of sense.” I’m a libra sun, but because it’s in my 12th house it’s not that present in my personality the way scorpio is.
5. Some books I read as a teen that shaped who I am are From Margin To Centre by Bell Hooks and Letters to a Young Poet by Rilke.

The Marvel series Runaways will end after the upcoming third season.

The final season has already been filmed and it will debut on Hulu on December 13.

Runaways was created by Gossip Girl‘s Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, who are also the duo behind new series like Looking for Alaska and Nancy Drew.

Marvel has been cutting back on the series that have previously been created as they get ready to launch a new Marvel television universe with Disney+ shows like WandaVision and Loki.

The only remaining Marvel series are ABC’s Agents of SHIELD, which will end after the upcoming season, as well as Hulu’s Helstrom and four animated series. The current Marvel television shows were produced by Jeph Loeb‘s TV division, but the upcoming shows will be produced by Kevin Feige‘s film division, according to THR.

The Marvel’s Runaways cast mates were joined by their co-stars Rhenzy Feliz, Ariela Barer, Lyrica Okano, and Allegro Acosta to talk about the new season of their Hulu show.

At the panel, Gregg opened up about working on the Runaways crossover with Cloak & Dagger, which airs on Freeform.

“It was incredible being on set for this particular episode,” he said, via Syfy. “We were doing it with you [the fans] in mind, so everything was amped up a bit as if you were with us the entire time.”

The two actresses joined a bunch of Hulu stars while celebrating Halloween during New York Comic Con. In attendance were Abigail‘s Reprisal co-stars Mena Massoud, Madison Davenport, Gilbert Owuor, and executive producer Warren Littlefield, as well as Lizzy‘s Castle Rock co-stars Tim Robbins, Paul Sparks, Barkhad Abdi, Matthew Alan, Yusra Warsama, and executive producer Dustin Thomason.

Also there were The Orville‘s Adrianne Palicki, Jessica Szohr, Penny Johnson Jerald, Scott Grimes, and Jon Cassar and Runaways‘ Gregg Sulkin, Virginia Gardner, Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Ariela Barer, Allegra Acosta, and Angel Parker.

More stars who were at the party were Light as a Feather‘s Haley Ramm, Liana Liberato, and Brianne Tju.

Lizzy was also joined by husband Tom Riley!

Hulu dropped the new visual on Friday (October 4).

Here’s the synopsis for the action-packed upcoming season: “The Runaways frantically search for their captured friends Chase, Gert, and Karolina. The kids go head to head with an unstoppable enemy who has targeted Leslie — or more accurately, the child she’s carrying. Nico draws them all into a dark realm where its ruler Morgan le Fay, played by Elizabeth Hurley, is much more nefarious than anyone the kids have yet to face.”

“Dark days ahead,” the key art reads.

The series stars Rhenzy Feliz, Lyrica Okano, Virginia Gardner, Ariela Barer, Gregg Sulkin, Allegra Acosta, Annie Wersching, Ryan Sands, Angel Parker, Ever Carradine, James Marsters, Kevin Wesiman, Brigid Brannagh, James Yaegashi, and Brittany Ishibashi.

Marvel’s Runaways will return on December 13 on Hulu with all 10 episodes!
