Asia Kate Dillon is working the red carpet at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards!

The 32-year-old Billions star is opening the show tonight, and discussing how the awards show has rid itself of gender labels with regards to the categories. If you didn’t know, Asia is a gender non-binary actor.

“I’m really proud that MTV has joined the conversation, about breaking down binaries,” Asia told People. “To be presenting the first best acting award based solely on performance and not on sex or gender identity? It’s a historic moment, and one that I share with everyone leading the way for change.”

Check out Asia on stage when the show stars at 8pm EST. The show is being held at the 2017 MTV Movie & TV Awards held at the Shrine Auditorium on Sunday (May 7) in Los Angeles.

The 42-year-old actress was joined by her co-stars Asia Kate Dillon, Paul Giamatti, David Costabile, and Toby Leonard Moore.

The next day, Asia Kate held a Q&A on Twitter and was asked if she has ever laughed during a take.

“All the time! We need a blooper reel @SHO_Billions !!!” she responded. Later adding, “Cast and crew have a few ideas 😘,” in response to another fan asking about a blooper reel.

Asia Kate Dillon, the new gender non-binary actor starring on the third season of Billions, has come to a decision about eligibility for the upcoming 2017 Emmy Awards.

After questioning the gender-specific acting categories in a latter to the Television Academy, Dillon has decided to be considered in the Best Supporting Actor category.

“What I learned through my research is that the word ‘actor,’ specifically in reference to those who performed in plays, came about in the late 1500s as a non-gendered word,” Asia said (via Variety). “It applied to all people, regardless of anatomical sex or gender identity.”

The Television Academy allows anyone to submit under either the Actor or Actress categories for any reason.

“The Academy supports anyone’s choice to do that, and the Academy is not going to do any sort of check,” Asia said. “I found them to be 100% supportive. I really couldn’t have been happier.”

Damian Lewis suited up for the premiere party for season two of his hit Showtime series Billions.

The 46-year-old actor attended the event – hosted by Showtime and Elit Vodka – at Cipriani’s on Monday (February 13) in New York City.

He was joined by his co-stars Malin Akerman and Maggie Siff.
