Jamie Dornan Belts Shirtless in 'Edgar's Prayer' Music Video - Watch!

Jamie Dornan is bringing the drama!

The 38-year-old actor supplied a thoroughly silly music video for an equally silly song from Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar called “Edgar’s Prayer,” which premiered over the weekend.

In the video, Jamie dramatically climbs a palm tree, performing ballet and singing to the sky shirtless at the beach.

Seagulls in the sand can you hear my prayer? I keep trying but I’m getting nowhere,” he dramatically sings.

He recently opened up about a possibility of a sequel to the funny movie, as well as how many shirts he ripped off on set.

'Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar' Won't Ever Qualify for Golden Globes Or SAG Awards - Find Out Why!

Fans might be enjoying Barb & Star Go to Vista Del Mar, but it won’t be eligible for some big recognition.

The Kristen Wiig and Annie Mumolo comedy wasn’t able to submit for Golden Globes and SAG Awards nominations this year, and under current rules, won’t be able to for 2022 either, Variety reported Tuesday (February 16).

The film was released on PVOD on February 12, which means it’s caught in a “COVID-awards loophole” under the current rules and guidelines for the awards shows, according to the outlet.

“The Lionsgate comedy was originally scheduled to be released theatrically on July 31, 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it was pushed back to July 16, 2021. During the holiday period between Christmas and New Year’s, the distributor decided to cancel the film’s theatrical release and instead debut on premium VOD platforms on Feb. 12. On Jan. 11, Lionsgate announced its plans, and the film was now within the Oscars’ extended eligibility window,” Variety reports.

“However, for the Golden Globes, the deadline for submissions was November 30, and at the time, the film was still thought to be a summer 2021 release. When the release plans were officially announced, it was too late for the film to throw itself into the ring for this year’s awards consideration.”

“There have been no official eligibility announcements by any major awards bodies regarding the 2021 film year and any upcoming 2022 award shows. The assumption has been it would begin March 1, 2021, and end on Dec. 31, 2021. This has placed Barb and Star Go To Vista Del Mar in this seemingly ‘eligibility purgatory’ for any possible accolades.”

The last update to the HFPA rules and website was in January: “On January 28, 2021, the HFPA adopted the following clarification to these special COVID rules: All motion picture drama, musical/comedy, foreign language and animated film submissions entered for consideration for the 2021 Golden Globe awards whose release schedule changes between February 3, 2021 (day of the nominations) and February 28, 2021 (end of current eligibility period) and therefore become ineligible for the 2021 awards because their release is delayed to a date after February 28, 2021, also will not be eligible for the 2022 awards. If you anticipate that your film’s release date will be delayed to a date after February 28, 2021, please advise us prior to the announcement of our 2021 nominations on February 3, 2021.”

The movie is also affected in the same way by the Screen Actors Guild Awards for 2022.

“This awards season has been and continues to be an ever-changing landscape. Our rules are typically released in July and we will be reviewing this and other scenarios that arise following the 27th SAG Awards on April 4,” a rep said in a statement.

Jamie Dornan Talks 'Barb & Star' Sequel Possibility & How Many Shirts He Ripped Off

Jamie Dornan is opening up about his role in the critically praised comedy Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar and if he’d be open to doing a sequel.

The 38-year-old actor chatted with Variety about getting to show off his comedic chops in the movie and that big musical number.

If you’ve seen the movie, which is available now on VOD, you know that Jamie rips his shirt off at one point. See it happen in the GIF below.

“We did that just two, maybe three times. And the first time it didn’t rip it all,” Jamie said. “I’m sure that footage will find its way onto some sort of blooper reel. So we had to like, cut it so I could rip it. Listen, even Hulk Hogan apparently cuts it at the top. So if Hulk Hogan needs help with ripping a shirt off, I definitely need help. I don’t even think I get ever got it off of the bottom.”

Jamie also discussed the possibility of a sequel.

“That’s a Mumolo/Wiig question,” he said, referring to the film’s writers and stars Annie Mumolo and Kristen Wiig. “I was hopeful that they weren’t gonna just turn and kill Edgar at some point towards the end. Because I was like, if this hits and people like it, there’s an appetite… I think they’ve definitely knocked around a few titles, let’s put it that way. We all had a bit of fun one day, coming up with destinations for for them to go on after. So listen, if they want to go again, and they want me to be involved, it would be the easiest yes of my life.”

Is Jamie Dornan Really Singing & Dancing in 'Barb & Star'? Director Speaks Out!

Jamie Dornan has a big musical moment in the new movie Barb and Star Go to Vista Del Mar and fans might be wondering if that’s actually him doing the singing and dancing on screen.

The movie’s director Josh Greenbaum opened up to Slate about working with Jamie and how much of that scene needed a double.

“It’s almost all him other than when we make it obvious that it’s not. All the singing is him. He’s got a pretty incredible voice, which I think, when we wrote it and cast it, I didn’t even know. I figured, ‘Oh, we’ll probably have someone else sing.’ I didn’t know he had a wonderful voice,” Josh said. “But we started talking more and more, and he was in a band in high school, and it was like, ‘Oh, he can really pull this off.’”

Josh added, “And then the dancing, obviously he’s fully committed. There are a couple of sequences, like when he’s spinning like a baby ballerina and digging himself into the sand, that are obviously doubled. Again, I hope it comes across as clear that part of the joke is it’s clearly not him, but if so, I’m sorry for ruining it for people that’s not him. He’s clearly doing the bulk of the funny tumbling and jumping. But when there’s beautiful, full-split ballet moves, I hate to tell the world, but that’s actually not Jamie.”
