Melinda Gates is going her own way after parting ways with Bill Gates, and she has the pandemic to thank in a way.
The 58-year-old philanthropist divorced her husband after years of marriage in August 2021.
She opened up about the role the COVID-19 pandemic played in her healing after making the decision during a recent interview.

Mary J. Blige, Amanda Seyfried and Quinta Brunson didn’t miss a style beat while arriving at the 2022 Time 100 Gala held at Frederick P. Rose Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center on Wednesday night (June 8) in New York City.
The three stars were joined by so many more at the annual event, which celebrates the 100 most influential people in the world.
Amanda‘s husband, Thomas Sadoski, supported her on the red carpet, alongside Simu Liu, Taika Waititi, Miranda Lambert and her husband Brendan McLoughlin, J Balvin and Valentina Ferrer, as well as Bill Gates and his daughter, Phoebe.
Others there included Olympian Eileen Gu, Dwyane Wade, Hwang Dong-kyuk, Adrienne Norris, Jazmine Sullivan, Michelle Zauner, and Jon Batiste.
