MCU's Michael B. Jordan & Jonathan Majors Honor 'Auntie' Angela Bassett Following Her Best Supporting Actress Loss at Oscars 2023

Angela Bassett made history as the first Marvel Cinematic Universe star to score a nomination in one of the big acting categories at the 2023 Oscars.

Even though she didn’t take home the win, her on-screen nephew Michael B. Jordan celebrated her amazing accomplishment and her role as Queen Ramonda in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever when he took the stage to present the Oscar for Best Cinematography with fellow MCU star Jonathan Majors.

Michael, who appeared in both Black Panther movies as Angela‘s nephew Erik Stevens, referenced one of his lines from the first movie while onstage.

“Hey Auntie,” Michael said. Jonathan followed that up by letting her know that they loved her.

Michael delivered the same line when his character first met Angela‘s in 2018′s Black Panther.

If you missed it, Best Supporting Actress went to Jamie Lee Curtis for her role in Everything Everywhere All at Once. You can check out her acceptance speech here.
