“Though it has been eighteen years since we lived together on the North Shore of Oahu, no matter where we are in life or however many years pass, the love between us will always remain,” Kate says of the reunion.

The film followed a hardcore surfer girl preparing for a big competition, as she finds herself falling for a football player.

Through this reunion, Kate and her costars are spreading positivity and kindness (the main motto of Kate’s new site, KIND.EST.) The reunion is in support of the Surfrider Foundation, where people can help protect the world’s ocean, waves and beaches through a powerful activist network.

“The girls are back in town! Watch me, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sanoe Lake reveal what really happened behind-the-scenes…18 years later. The most epic reunion, from the beloved cult classic. You won’t want to miss,” Kate said.

Kate recently opened up about the industry’s initial perception of herself. See what she said!

'Blue Crush' Reboot TV Series in Development at NBC!

NBC is bringing Blue Crush to TV!

The 2002 film starring Kate Bosworth, Michelle Rodriguez, and Sanoe Lake is in the early stages of being turned into a drama series with Hannah Schneider writing and serving as executive producer of the show.

The series will tell “the story of female empowerment and ambition in the world of Hawaii’s North Shore. In the wake of a tragic accident, a surfer works to revive her career and bring pride to a local community threatened by commercialism and dangerous surf politics. Even in paradise, you never know what chaos is brewing inside the barrel,” THR reports.

NBC is teaming up with Blue Crush‘s production company Imagine Entertainment to bring the film to TV.
