The 43-year-old chiropractor filed for divorce this week, it was revealed on Tuesday (January 2), citing the date of separation as just a couple days earlier, on Sunday (December 31).
Following the news of their separation after over four years of marriage, Bryan took to his Instagram account to share a statement about their split.

Rachel Lindsay and Bryan Abasolo have an unconventional set-up that works for them at the moment.
The married Bachelorette couple opened up about their bicoastal living situation in an interview on Dr. Abs Healthcast podcast.
“I didn’t move to L.A. because I just love the city. You’re focusing on your practice and building it to a place you want it to be, and I am here in L.A. working for Extra and doing other things, and we’re doing this to eventually bring ourselves together,” Rachel said to her husband on the podcast.
“We know where we’re going, we know where we’re headed, and we know what we’re trying to build as Abasolos,” she continued.
“I can see from the outside looking in how it’s like, ‘Wow, when Rachel was on the show she talked about not wanting to put her career over her husband.’ But the thing is, I’m not putting my career over my husband. I’m putting my family first. Part of that is putting us in a position to succeed and put our family in the best position.”
“For me, I want you to go do your thing in L.A., I want you to be as successful as possible. You’re killing it right now, and I love it,” Bryan added.
Before going bicoastal, here’s what the couple did to celebrate their one year anniversary.

The couple took a trip to the island in the Caribbean, where they stayed at Bucuti & Tara Beach Resort, an intimate adults-only property named one of the most romantic hotels in the world by TripAdvisor.
“One year + FOREVER…I love you and I am beyond thankful for you 🖤,” Rachel wrote on Instagram to celebrate their anniversary.
Bryan wrote, “I can’t believe it’s already been a year since we both said “I Do”! I consider myself beyond lucky to be able to call you my wife and truly blessed to be your husband. I wake up every single day a better man because you are always there to support, encourage, and love me no matter what. You are my rock and my best friend. Thank you for the memories we have shared together this year and I look forward to many many more. I love you @therachlindsay Happy Anniversary! ❤️😘.”
Over the summer, Rachel slammed her friend and fellow Bachelorette, Becca Kufrin‘s now ex-fiance.

Rachel Lindsay is opening up about how racism impacts her relationship with her husband Bryan Abasolo.
Speaking to ET, the 35-year-old attorney opened up about how being an interracial couple forced them to have thick skin.
“People were not receptive to our relationship at the end of [The Bachelorette]. So, we’ve always had to develop a thick skin and figure out how to navigate this world as an interracial couple. We did that from the very beginning,” she shared.
Rachel added that “what the world is going through right now, we’ve had the tough discussions about presenting ourselves as an interracial couple before, and how we want to raise our children. Bryan has always gotten it.”
Bryan and Rachel tied the knot just last year in August and while she knew she had always made the right choice in him, that feeling was solidified as they protest together for Black Lives Matter.
“Communication has always been the foundation of our relationship and we always have those tough conversations, so watching Bryan protest and scream ‘Black Lives Matter,’ and really get emotional in the whole experience … of course I look over and am like, ‘Gosh, I made the right decision, because he understands me and I understand him,’” she says.
