CBS Defends Keeping Michael Weatherly's 'Bull' on Air Despite Eliza Dushku's Allegations

Michael Weatherly faced an accusation of sexual harassment from Bull co-star Eliza Dushku last year and now CBS is defending their decision to continue airing the series.

Dushku was paid $9.5 million in a settlement with the network when she was written off the show after filing the sexual harassment claim.

Michael Steven Spielberg‘s production company Amblin Entertainment pulled out as producers after the allegations went public.

“I can’t speak for Amblin, but to us, it’s a show that does very well,” CBS network head Kelly Kahl said at the TCA Summer Press Tour (via Variety). “It’s a very popular show. More than 10 million people watch every week. Michael is loved by our audience, and even after these allegations came out, people continued to watch. It’s a popular show we want to keep on our air, and it’s a very good show as well.”

Michael Weatherly's 'Bull' Loses Steven Spielberg as Producer

The hit series Bull, starring Michael Weatherly, is losing Steven Spielberg and Amblin Television as producers.

Spielberg and the heads of his production company Amblin TV have served as executive producers on the CBS legal drama for the first three seasons. The show was just renewed for a fourth season, but they will not continue.

The reason? They reportedly don’t want to be associated with the series after Weatherly was accused of sexual harassment by co-star Eliza Dushku, according to Deadline.

CBS paid out a $9.5 million settlement to Dushku after she was written off the show. Her exit happened after she reported Weatherly and the settlement she received reflected the amount she would have made if she finished out her contract with the show.
