The casting directors for the Marvel Cinematic Universe have the magic touch when it comes to casting. They find the perfect character for each role!

Chris Pratt as Star-Lord is no exception! However, he faced some stiff competition from a talented batch of actors to earn a chance to join the Avengers.

In a franchise that already had several (expertly cast) actors named Chris on the team, he was introduced as the plucky and smart-mouthed Star-Lord (aka Peter Quill) in 2014′s Guardians of the Galaxy.

Since then, he’s stepped out with the team of heroes multiple times, most recently in 2023′s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

While he is now synonymous with the part, we did some digging and rounded up 15 other actors who auditioned for the opportunity. Interestingly, there are even rumors about who were the second and third choices.

Some of his competitors wound up acting alongside Chris in the MCU. One even joined the cast of the first Guardians movie in another role. Others have fronted their own mega-successful franchises.

Parks and Recreation, aka Parks and Rec, was a super popular mockumentary comedy on NBC for several years.

The hit, Emmy award-nominated political satire featured a star-studded cast of Amy Poehler, Aubrey Plaza, Nick Offerman, Jim O’Heir, Aziz Ansari, Retta, Chris Pratt, Rashida Jones, Adam Scott and Rob Lowe, along with more big-name celeb appearances throughout the course of it’s run.

Here’s a synopsis: Armed with idea binders and the stalwart help of fellow employees, small-town civil servant Leslie Knope bushwhacks through bureaucracy to make to make her hometown a better place.

The series ran for seven seasons, from 2009 to 2015, picking up 76 award nominations and winning 13, including a Golden Globe win for Best Actress in a Television Series Comedy or Musical for Amy Poehler.

Before and after the show, the cast has starred in many hit movies and other TV shows, and have amassed quite the wealth in their careers.

Katherine Schwarzenegger just debuted her new holiday collection with Cleobella and her famous family members all showed up to support the launch!

The 33-year-old entrepreneur and author was joined by husband Chris Pratt and more at the Cleobella holiday party on Saturday (November 4) at Palisades Village in Pacific Palisades, Calif.

Katherine was also joined by her mom Maria Shriver, who wore a matching dress, siblings Patrick and Christina, and Patrick‘s longtime girlfriend Abby Champion.

The new collection includes ready to wear, loungewear, and kitchenware pieces. Katherine said, “One of my favorite parts of having daughters is being able to have mommy and me matching moments and that’s why we designed this collection to have minis to all the outfits. I can’t wait to match my girls for a holiday party and lounging around the house over the cozy holiday season!”
