'Selling Sunset' Creator Explains Why Justin Hartley Was Never On the Show

Justin Hartley‘s ex-wife Chrishell Stause stars on the Netflix series Selling Sunset, but he never once made an appearance on the reality show… and now the show’s creator is explaining why.

The first episode of Selling Sunset aired in March 2019 and Justin was mentioned many times throughout the three seasons that are streaming right now.

In a new interview with the show’s creator Adam DiVello, it was revealed why Justin never appeared alongside Chrishell.

“I think it was just contractual. We certainly asked many, many times. I think it was just his contract with NBC,” Adam told Variety. If you weren’t aware, Justin is one of the stars of NBC’s smash hit series This Is Us.

The third season follows Justin and Chrishell‘s split last year and she revealed the surprising way he told her that he filed for divorce.

Selling Sunset's Christine Quinn Talks Feud with Chrishell Stause, Reveals When Things Changed Between Them

One of the main storylines on the Netflix docu-soap series Selling Sunset is the feud between real estate agents Chrishell Stause and Christine Quinn.

In the most recent season, Chrishell‘s divorce from husband Justin Hartley was revealed just weeks before Christine‘s wedding and she felt that her big day was being overshadowed by the drama.

While appearing on the podcast Brandi Glanville Unfiltered, Christine said that she and Chrishell were actually close at the beginning, but things later changed.

“From day one, obviously the producers had certain things in mind,” Christine said. “They wanted us to clash obviously and at first, we didn’t. We got along great. We were friends. She was at my house. We were drinking, having a good time. I was getting to know her and the storylines came into play… We thought that we were good at separating things.”

Christine says that Chrishell decided to block her at the end of season one and that’s when things changed between them.

“Then we realized, ‘Oh s–t! This is affecting our real lives.’ I never wanted to fight with her. Are you kidding? Her and I had drinks. I made her dinner. I didn’t want that. That wasn’t me,” Christine said. “I’m sorry if I came across too harsh in my delivery. I never apologize for my words because my words are how I feel and they’re always accurate.”

Christine opened up about how Chrishell‘s divorce was addressed on the series and why she decided to question the cause of the divorce.

“When people are like, ‘Oh my god! I can’t believe you commented on Chrishell‘s divorce.’ I’m like, ‘Yah of course. I’m getting paid to. What do you mean?’” she said.
