Jaden Smith is showing off his acting chops in the new trailer for his upcoming film Skate Kitchen!
In the drama flick, the 19-year-old son of Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith plays an enigmatic skateboarder.
Skate Kitchen made its premiere at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival.
Here’s the synopsis: Camille, an introverted teenage skateboarder (Rachelle Vinberg) from Long Island, meets and befriends an all-girl, New York City-based skateboarding crew called Skate Kitchen. She falls in with the in-crowd, has a falling-out with her mother, and falls for a mysterious skateboarder guy (Jaden), but a relationship with him proves to be trickier to navigate than a kickflip.
The movie captures the experience of women in male-dominated spaces and tells a story of a girl who learns the importance of camaraderie and self-discovery.
Directed by Crystal Moselle, the film also stars Dede Lovelace, Nina Moran, Kabrina Adams, Ajani Russell, Jules Lorenzo, Brenn Lorenzo, Hisham Tawfiq, and Elizabeth Rodriguez.
Skate Kitchen will hit select theaters on August 10.
