Mandy Moore and Connie Britton hit the red carpet at The Paley Honors: A Gala Tribute to Music on Television on Tuesday (May 15) at Cipriani Wall Street in New York City.

The event highlighted all of the groundbreaking musical moments from television, celebrated diverse music-based series, paid tribute to famous TV theme songs, and more.

The cast of the musical series Rise attended the event that night, the same evening that the show’s series finale aired. In attendance were Damon J. Gillespie (with fiancee Grace Aki), Ted Sutherland, Amy Forsyth, Casey Johnson, and Shirley Rumierk.

Rise has officially been canceled after just one season.

NBC made the announcement on Friday (May 11).

The one-hour drama focused on a working-class high school drama department and the students as they come alive under a passionate teacher and family man whose dedication to the program galvanizes the entire town.

It starred Josh Radnor, Damon J. Gillespie, Sergio King, Auli’i Cravalho, Rarmian Newton, Rosie Perez, Marley Shelton, Ted Sutherland, Amy Forsyth, Casey W. Johnson, Taylor Richardson, Joe Tippett, and Shirley Rumierk.

The season finale will premiere on May 15.

Kristin Chenoweth shines on the red carpet as she arrives at NBC’s 2018 Summer Press Day on Wednesday (May 2) at the Universal Studios Backlot in Universal City, Calif.

The 49-year-old actress paired her all black outfit with sparkling discoball inspired boots for the event.

Kristin attended the event to promote her role as the “lady killer” in the second season of NBC’s series Trial & Error – which is set to premiere on Thursday, July 19.

The new musical series Rise premieres TONIGHT (March 13) on NBC and we caught up with the show’s star Damon J. Gillespie to learn more about him!

The actor plays Robbie Thorne, a football player who is recruited to star in his high school’s production of the musical Spring Awakening.

Other than an appearance in a 2015 episode of Inside Amy Schumer, this is Damon‘s first big acting credit. Here are 10 Fun Facts about him:

A new trailer for the upcoming musical NBC series Rise debuted during the 2018 Super Bowl!

The clip features the show’s stars Damon J. Gillespie, Auli’i Cravalho, Amy Forsyth, and Ted Sutherland putting their own spin on the song “Glorious” by Macklemore and Skylar Grey.

Josh Radnor and Rosie Perez also star in the upcoming drama from Jason Katims, the creator of Friday Night Lights and Parenthood, and Jeffrey Seller, the producer of Hamilton.

Here’s the synopsis: When dedicated teacher Lou Mazzuchelli (Radnor) sheds his own self-doubt and takes over the school’s lackluster theatre department, he galvanizes not only the faculty and students but the entire working-class town.

Rise premieres on Tuesday, March 13 at 10/9c on NBC.
