Peacock has debuted the first trailer for the upcoming movie Genie, starring the 53-year-old Oscar-nominated actress and Paapa Essiedu.
From Oscar-nominated screenwriter Richard Curtis and director Sam Boyd comes Genie, “a holiday fairytale comedy about a genie, a man, and landing one last chance to fix the mess you’ve made of your life. With his job, life and family unraveling around him, a despondent Bernard (Essiedu) dusts off a jewelry box and unintentionally releases genie Flora (McCarthy), who just might be able to help him. Season one of HBO’s hit new series The Gilded Age finished airing back in March 2022 and fans have been eagerly waiting news of season two. We finally have something to share!
The network just announced that the eight-episode second season will premiere on HBO on Sunday, October 29 at 9pm ET/PT. The show will also be available to stream on Max.
Here’s the official logline: The American Gilded Age was a period of immense economic change, of great conflict between the old ways and brand new systems, and of huge fortunes made and lost. Season two of The Gilded Age begins on Easter morning 1883, with the news that Bertha Russell’s bid for a box at the Academy of Music has been rejected. Through the eight episodes of the season, we watch as Bertha challenges Mrs. Astor and the old system and works to not only gain a foothold in Society, but to potentially take a leading role in it. George Russell takes on his own battle with a growing union at his steel plant in Pittsburgh. In the Brook House, Marian continues her journey to find her way in the world secretly teaching at a girls school while much to everyone’s surprise Ada begins a new courtship. Of course, Agnes approves of none of it. In Brooklyn, the Scott family begins to heal from a shocking discovery, and Peggy taps into her activist spirit through her work with T. Thomas Fortune at the NY Globe.”

Denee Benton got in a dig at Florida’s Governor Ron DeSantis while presenting at the 2023 Tony Awards.
The 31-year-old Broadway actress, who stars on HBO’s The Gilded Age, was one of the many presenters on Sunday night (June 11) at the United Palace Theatre in New York City’s Washington Heights.
Denee was there to honor 2023 Excellence In Theatre Education Award winner Jason Zembuch Young of Plantation, Florida.

Fans can’t get enough of Morgan Spector‘s outfit at an event for The Gilded Age over the weekend!
The 42-year-old actor, who plays George Russell in the HBO series, stepped out for a PaleyFest panel and a SAG-AFTRA Foundation discussion for the show on Sunday (October 9) in New York City.
Morgan was joined by co-stars Cynthia Nixon, Denee Benton, Christine Baranski, Louisa Jacobson, and Carrie Coon. He was dressed in a skin-tight turtleneck top and leather pants, which showed off his buff physique.

Christine Baranski rocks a sharp suit for The Gilded Age special screening held at The Whitby Hotel in New York City on Tuesday (May 24).
The 70-year-old actress met up with her co-stars Carrie Coon, Morgan Spector, Denee Benton, Louisa Jacobson and Cynthia Nixon, and series showrunner/creator Julian Fellowes.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight recently, Cynthia and Christine opened up about being part of the period drama and learning from it as they work.
“[It's] such a fascinating part of history, and New York history in particular,” Cynthia shared. “It’s a period that has so much in common with our own and I think it’s a period that people don’t know that much about.”
Christine added that they “learn a lot about history.”
“We’re so lucky as we say to be part of this world that [Julian] creates,” she continued, noting that everyone “not only enjoyed the stories,” but they all “loved the costumes and the sets and entertaining that fairy-tale world where manners were very strict and formal.””

Christine Baranski is celebrating her 70th birthday at the 2022 Met Gala!
The actress, who currently stars in HBO Max’s The Gilded Age, attended fashion’s big event on her birthday, Monday (May 2), at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
For the event, Christine sported a black tuxedo-inspired dress paired with oversized black sunglasses.
Also stepping out for the Met Gala were Christine‘s The Gilded Age co-stars Louisa Jacobson – in a sheer black and gold dress – and Denee Benton, who wore a pink and red, silk dress.
The dress code for the event is “Gilded Glamour” and it’s inspired by the Costume Institute’s exhibition, In America: An Anthology of Fashion. Guests are asked to “embody the grandeur—and perhaps the dichotomy—of Gilded Age New York,” a period that stretched from 1870 to 1890. The official co-chairs this year are Regina King, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, and Lin-Manuel Miranda.
FYI: Christine is wearing a Thom Browne outfit. Louisa is wearing a Schiaparelli dress while carrying a Tyler Ellis clutch. Denee is wearing Jimmy Choo heels.
