Drew Barrymore & Cameron Diaz Discuss Their Nicknames, Say the Sweetest Things About Their Friendship (Video)

It’s Drew Barrymore‘s 46th birthday and her longtime best friend Cameron Diaz made a surprise appearance, via Zoom, to help celebrate the special day.

During the cute interview, the former Charlie’s Angels co-stars revealed that they call each other “Poo Poo” and will even use the nickname while out for dinner in public.

Drew said that she doesn’t like sleeping in a bed with anyone other than a romantic partner, but she’ll let Cameron sleep with her.

“I don’t like co-sleeping with anyone, it’s a thing,” Drew said. “I don’t know why but it’s my thing. If it’s like a lover then obviously that’s different, but no friends. I will sleep in a bathtub, I’ve slept on a pool table, like you name it, but this one, oh my gosh. We’ve lived together for periods of time, been roommates. I’ve slept in a tent while my fever was breaking on a Chilean mountain in a thunderstorm in, like, Patagonia. I mean, yeah, we’ve been everywhere together.”

When fellow guest Savannah Guthrie said that fans want a Charlie’s Angels reunion Drew said, “I’m glad that people feel that way. I’ll be grannies in inner tubes with Poo Poo, so we can do anything and everything as long as we’re together. I have a whole life to live with you.”

Cameron then said the sweetest things about their friendship.

“Truly one of the great joys of my life is our friendship,” Cameron said. “When I think about you, literally I will cry, because I just think you’re so special and to celebrate you every year, it’s one of my favorite times of the year.”

Drew responded, “You’ve made me a better person my whole life. And you’ve seen me through everything. Ugly, beautiful, loss, life, birth.”

Drew Barrymore & Steven Spielberg Had A Funny Gift Exchange After She Posed For Playboy

Steven Spielberg was one of the many surprise guests on Drew Barrymore‘s birthday special, airing today.

The famed director, who directed Drew in E.T. and is also her godfather, opened up about the funny gift exchange that went down after she posed for Playboy in 1995.

Apparently, Steven had gifted her with a quilt that said “Cover Up”, and a copy of the layout from the magazine which he covered up with paper doll cut out clothes.

“I sent her the Playboy layout and I had an artist come over and do paper doll cutout clothes which I glued on to all of her partially exposed photographs and sent the whole thing back to Drew, ‘Now she’s dressed.’ Then about a week later, Drew sent me something…She sent me an apology,” Steven revealed.

The apology gift was a series of photos where she is dressed up as a nun and posed in front of a church.

In the now framed photos, Drew is seemingly “repenting” for the shoot, and captioned the pictures with “I’m sorry,” “I’ve seen the light” and “I’m on my way” respectively.

The photos still hang in Steven‘s home today.

If you missed it, Drew got another surprise from someone important in her life.

Drew Barrymore Tells Hugh Grant That Her Kids Aren't Fans of Her Movies

Drew Barrymore‘s daughters are tough critics!

In a conversation with Hugh Grant for the SAG-AFTRA Foundation, the talk-show host revealed that her two daughters, Olive, 8, and Frankie, 6, aren’t the biggest fans of her movies.

“They call them ‘mom movies,’” Drew said.

When Hugh asked if they had watched Music and Lyrics, the movie they starred in together in 2007, Drew said she didn’t think her daughters had ever seen it.

“That is insane,” Hugh told her.

“I make mine watch my films every night. If they don’t watch my films, they don’t get fed,” he joked.

She shared that her daughters had seen some of her films, including E.T., 50 First Dates and Never Been Kissed, but that they didn’t have great reviews for the movies.

Regardless, Drew says she isn’t giving up. “I think I’m going to force them to watch it,” she said of Music and Lyrics.

She also added, “This is like phases of their life. They’ll come around.”

Drew Barrymore Opens Up About Her Emotional Interview with Ex-Husband Tom Green

Drew Barrymore is reflecting on her candid interview with her ex-husband Tom Green.

In an interview with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday (February 2), the 45-year-old actress opened up about reconnecting with her ex after not speaking with him for 15 years. Their emotional conversation aired on The Drew Barrymore Show in September.

Drew explained to Jimmy, “There were no questions prepared for that. I had an offline conversation with him because we didn’t want it to be some bougie Hollywood moment, like, ‘Let’s reconnect in front of the cameras.’”

Drew and Tom began dating after she reached out to him about starring in Charlie’s Angels. They got engaged in July 2000 and married a year later. They ended up splitting in December 2001.

“The thing I love about Tom is he is one of the first people to put a camera on his life, when it was a giant, fat camcorder and there were no easy phones available,” Drew told Jimmy. “His stuff was on VHS, I remember watching his VHS tapes. It’s what gave me the idea, because I just said, ‘Gosh, would you just want to reconnect? It’s been a long time and I would just love to honor what you did. You broke down all these doors, you were a pioneer. And I would love to talk about it and have it be an excuse for us to say hello.’”

“That’s the tone,” Drew continued. “I sent him a video and then he sent me one back. And immediately, he made me laugh and that’s my kryptonite, laughter.”
