Eli Roth and his wife Lorenza Izzo are divorcing after four years of marriage.

The 46-year-old Hostel director and 28-year-old actress filed documents to end things on Monday (July 16), according to TMZ.

The couple got married back in 2014, after dating for several years.

Following the news, Eli and Lorenza released a statement, opening up about their separation.

“It is with deep love and respect that we are choosing to separate as a couple. We’ve had an increidble journey together, we love each other very much, and will still remain the best of friends. We are grateful for the six wonderful years together but have decided to go our separate ways to have the most fulfilled, joyous lives we can,” they wrote.

They continued, “We wish to continue working together creatively and are ultimately separating so we don’t f**king kill each other.”

The 44-year-old actor and Michael, 66, were joined at the event by Narcos‘ Pedro Pascal, Dermot Mulroney and his wife Tharita Cesaron, Ben Mendelsohn, Eli Roth, Danny Huston and his nephew Jack Huston.

Eli Roth is known for directing some of the best horror movies and now he’s taking on short-form horror for Universal Studios’ Halloween Horror Nights commercial.

You can see a bunch of your favorite horror projects represented in the commercial, including The Shining, Saw, and American Horror Story.

“I first got involved with ‘Halloween Horror Nights’ as a fan – I felt that I was in a horror movie and I didn’t want it to end,” Eli said a behind-the-scenes video showing the making of the commercial. “For this spot, I wanted to pay homage to these brilliant and scary films, and yet put my own spin on it.”

Halloween Horror Nights kicks off at Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Orlando Resort on September 15.

It seems that Eli Roth has been getting some ideas for an upcoming movie while watching coverage of the 2016 Rio Summer Olympics.

The filmmaker is the creator of the Hostel franchise and he teased that he has ideas for a new addition to the series.

Eli wrote and directed the first two films in the franchise. A third was produced in 2011 and went direct to video.

“The Olympics are giving me ideas for a new Hostel in ways I could never have predicted,” Eli tweeted on Thursday night (August 18). He possibly is referring to the ordeal that Ryan Lochte and his teammates are going through right now.

Eli Roth has executive produced a new short film called Chainsaw that might scare you away from visiting haunted houses this Halloween season!

The film follows a couple (Kirby Bliss Blanton and Logan Paul) as they visit a haunted house and are terrorized by a man with a chainsaw who isn’t actually part of the attraction, as some in the venue seem to think.

Also appearing in the short film are James Frey as Chainsaw, Nikki Gray as the makeup assistant, the film’s co-director David Dinetz as the man in the booth, and there’s even a cameo appearance from JustJared.com‘s Jared Eng!

David directed the short film alongside Dylan Trussell and it was produced by CryptTV’s Jack Davis and Andrew Alter along with executive producers Steve Harris, Jon Sheinberg, and Nick Sheinberg.

Chainsaw is an interactive digital story and the video concluded with Eli and directors Culprit Creative extending a unique invitation to fans: build Chainsaw’s backstory and mythology with YOUR ideas and give your take on what should happen in the feature version.
