Sara Bareilles Leads a Girl Group Comeback in 'Girls5eva' Trailer - Watch Now!

Sara Bareilles is heading to television in the new comedy series Girls5eva and Peacock just released the show’s first trailer!

In the new series, a one-hit-wonder girl group from the 90’s gets sampled by a young rapper, so its members reunite to give their pop star dreams one more shot. They may be grown women balancing spouses, kids, jobs, debt, aging parents, and shoulder pain, but can‘t they also be Girls5eva?

Also starring in the series are Busy Philipps, Renee Elise Goldsberry, Paula Pell, Ashley Park, and Erika Henningsen as the younger version of Paula’s character.

Tina Fey is among the executive producers and she actually has a connection to both Erika and Ashley. They starred in the Broadway musical version of her movie Mean Girls!

All eight episodes of Girls5eva will be available to stream on Peacock on May 6.

Ben Platt is dapper in a suit while hitting the red carpet at the 2019 Jimmy Awards held at the Minskoff Theatre on Monday (June 24) in New York City.

The 25-year-old entertainer was joined at the event by Kiss Me Kate‘s Stephanie Styles, Be More Chill‘s Jason Tam and George Salazar, Dear Evan Hansen‘s Andrew Barth Feldman, Montego Glover, Jagged Little Pill‘s Derek Klena, Mean GirlsKyle Selig and Erika Henningsen, SpongeBob SquarePantsEthan Slater, The Cher Show‘s Micaela Diamond and King Kong‘s Christiani Pitts.

The 11th annual Jimmy Awards are also known as National High School Musical Theatre Awards.

Top prizes went to Ethan Kelso, winning Best Performance by an Actor for his work as Will Bloom in Big Fish at Salt Lake School for the Performing Arts in Logan, Utah, and Ekele Ukegbu, who won Best Performance by an Actress, having played Aida in Aida at Elmont Memorial Junior-Senior High School in Nassau County, New York. Both were awarded $25,000 scholarships.

Tina Fey Celebrates 'Mean Girls' Day with Jonathan Bennett & Broadway Cast!

Tina Fey happily hits the stage to celebrate Mean Girls Day at The August Wilson Theatre on Wednesday (October 3) in New York City.

The 48-year-old writer-actress was joined onstage by Jonathan Bennett, aka Aaron Samuels from the Mean Girls film, as he read a proclamation from the New York State Assembly officially declaring October 3rd, Mean Girls Day, in the state of New York.

Tina and Jonathan then made their way outside to join Broadway stars Erika Henningsen, Ashley Park, Kate Rockwell and Taylor Louderman to pose with the re-named “W. Fetch Street” sign on W. 52nd Street sign between Broadway and 8th Avenue.

That same day, Tina also visited the Mean Girl Day celebration at Drybar Bryant Park.

Tina Fey Joins 'Mean Girls' Cast to Release Cast Album on Vinyl

Tina, Jeff, and their co-writer Nell Benjamin joined cast members from the Broadway musical, including Erika Henningsen, Ashley Park, and Kate Rockwell, to sign copies of the vinyl for fans.

Mean Girls is currently running on Broadway at the August Wilson Theatre.

Tina Fey happily strikes a poses backstage while attending the 2018 Lucille Lortel Awards held on Sunday (May 6) in New York City.

The 47-year-old entertainer was joined at the event by Zachary Quinto, Andrew Rannells, Laura Benanti, Billy Crudup, Katrina Lenk, Tony Shalhoub, Michael Urie, Condola Rashad, Andy Karl, Harry Hadden-Paton, Lauren Ambrose, Marg Helgenberger, Mean Girls’ Erika Henningsen and Ashley Park, Kirstin Maldonado, Denise Gough, Paul Alexander Nolan, Carol Kane and Marilu Henner.

The ceremony celebrated the best of the 2017–2018 Off-Broadway season.

Among the night’s big winners were the musical KPOP, which took home three awards including Outstanding Musical, and School Girls; Or, the African Mean Girls Play and the Pulitzer-winning Cost of Living, which earned two wins each, including a tie for Outstanding Play.
