The Fantastic Beasts movies are essentially done, at least for now.

David Yates, who directed the three Wizarding World of Harry Potter prequel movies and the last four HP movies, is speaking out about the possibility of a fourth Fantastic Beasts film.

If you recall, the last one, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, did not do well at the box office and was the lowest performing film in the entire Harry Potter franchise. Because of this, it was unknown if another film would be happening.

Eddie Redmayne is sharing a little update about the future of the Fantastic Beasts movie franchise.

The 41-year-old actor has starred as Newt Scamander in all three movies – Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald and Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore – and during a recent interview, opened up about if or when a fourth movie would be happening.

Eddie Redmayne‘s “most embarrassing moment on set” took place while he was filming Fantastic Beasts and involved a dramatic wardrobe malfunction.

The 41-year-old The Good Nurse actor starred as Newt Scamander in the Harry Potter spin-off franchise, which premiered in 2016.

During a recent profile, he explained that he had a major wardrobe fail while filming an already embarrassing scene.

Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore is not performing like most of the entries into the Harry Potter cinematic universe.

The third film in the spinoff series opened to $43 million in its domestic box office debut, via Variety.

While the number is solid for the pandemic era, putting it at No. 1 at the box office and among the biggest North American openings of 2022, it’s also the worst start for a Harry Potter movie.

2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opened to $74 million in North America, while the 2018 follow-up The Crimes of Grindelwald opened at $62 million.

The movie cost $200 million to produce. The first two Fantastic Beasts movies brought in $814 million globally and $650 million globally, and made 75% of revenues from foreign box offices. The movie has grossed $193 million globally to date.

There have been some changes made to Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore ahead of its release in China.

Variety reports that references to a romantic relationship between male characters Dumbledore (Jude Law) and Grindelwald (Mads Mikkelsen) have been removed from the film.
