Lisa Kudrow Shares Exciting Update About Upcoming 'Friends' Reunion!

Lisa Kudrow has an update on the highly-anticipated Friends reunion!

During her interview on Rob Lowe‘s podcast Literally! With Rob Lowe, the 57-year-old actress gave an update on production plans for the special heading to HBO Max.

Back in February 2020, it was announced that the entire Friends cast – Lisa, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry – had signed on for an unscripted reunion for their hit show.

However, because of the ongoing pandemic, plans for shooting the special kept getting postponed.

“We’re going to shoot that in the spring,” Lisa reveled to Rob. “Early spring.”

She also revealed that she has already shot something for the special.

“I pre-shot something for it already,” Lisa added. “So we’re definitely doing it because I already shot a little something.”

also wanted to make it very clear that the special is “not a reboot.”

“It’s not like a scripted thing,” Lisa explained. “We’re not portraying our characters. It’s us getting together, which doesn’t happen a lot and has never happened in front of other people since 2004, when we stopped [filming Friends].”

During another recent interview, Lisa Kudrow explained why she doesn’t watch Friends re-runs.

Courteney Cox Recreated an Iconic 'Friends' Moment by Stuffing Her Head Inside a Turkey! (Video)

One of Courteney Cox‘s most iconic moments on the TV show Friends was when her character Monica’s head got stuck in the body of a turkey… and the actress just recreated that moment!

To celebrate Thanksgiving 2020, 22 years after that famous Friends episode aired, Courteney got back into the turkey.

“Happy Thanksgiving everyone, I hope you’re having a great day,” Courteney began the video.

Courteney‘s attitude took a turn and she continued, “I’m feeling so thankful, and also, if I get one more goddamn gif with that turkey on my head dancing like a f—king fool, I’m just gonna snap.”

A GIF of the scene then played and Courteney appeared again to say, “So anyhow, since I’m the symbol of Thanksgiving, here you go, hope it makes you happy.”

'Friends' Actress Jane Sibbett Revealed She Almost Played Rachel Instead of Carol

You might recognize Jane Sibbett as Ross Gellar’s ex-wife Carol from Friends, but she was actually in the running to play another character on the show.

In a new interview with Australia’s, the actress revealed that she almost played Rachel Green.

“I actually was up for another character,” she shared. “They wanted me to be one of the main six. It was actually Rachel, but I usually don’t tell people that because Jen [Aniston]… There’s no-one who could’ve done it like Jen.”

Jane also revealed the reason why she didn’t get the role was because she was pregnant in real life.

“I asked them [my agents] if they’d told the producers I was pregnant [at the time] and they said, ‘Oh no, we thought we’d tell them later.’ And I said, ‘No, you’ve got to tell them now,’” she insisted. “So obviously [producers] said it wouldn’t work out.

Jane admits that there’s no other Rachel Green than Jennifer Aniston.

“I have no regrets, my goodness, there’s no way anybody could have come close to what Jennifer Aniston did with Rachel. She was so perfect.”

While she lost out on playing Rachel, Jane did welcome her son, Kai, and two days later, was on the set as Carol.

Jane Krakowski and even Courteney Cox were also considered to play Rachel, too.
