Jessica Chastain, Ariana DeBose, & More Step Out to Honor Guillermo del Toro at Film Benefit 2022

Jessica Chastain and Ariana DeBose are stepping out to honor Guillermo del Toro.

The two Oscar-winning actresses attended the 2022 Film Benefit honoring the 58-year-old Oscar-winning director on Thursday evening (December 8) held at The Museum of Modern Art in New York City.

Guillermo was joined at the event by wife Kim Morgan along with the stars of his latest movie Pinocchio, Finn Wolfhard and Gregory Mann.

Other stars in attendance included Michael Shannon, Oscar Isaac and wife Elvira Lind, Chloe Sevigny, Girls actress Jemima Kirke, model Helena Christensen, Slave Play playwright Jeremy O. Harris, and The Mummy actress Sofia Boutella.

During the event, H.E.R. took to the stage for a performance while Jessica, Finn, and Gregory all paid tribute to Guillermo.

Cate Blanchett Walked the 'Pinocchio' Red Carpet in London with a Tiny Pinocchio Statue!

There was a very special guest at the Pinocchio red carpet premiere – a tiny statue of Pinocchio!

Cate Blanchett and the cast of the movie attended the premiere during the 2022 BFI London Film Festival on Saturday (October 15) at the Royal Festival Hall in London, England.

Also in attendance were co-stars Christoph Waltz, David Bradley, Gregory Mann, and Burn Gorman, as well as director Guillermo del Toro and his wife Kim Morgan.

Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio is a stop-motion animated film that reimagines the classic tale of the fabled wooden boy with a whimsical tour de force that finds Pinocchio on an enchanted adventure that transcends worlds and reveals the life-giving power of love. The movie will be released on Netflix on December 9.

Guillermo del Toro's 'Pinocchio' Gets First Teaser - Watch Now!

Guillermo del Toro‘s Pinocchio, a whimsical, stop-motion musical, has its very first teaser and release date information straight from Netflix!

The film is a re-imagining of the classic Italian tale in a stop-motion musical adventure.

Directed by Guillermo and Mark Gustafson, the film features an all-star voice cast with Ewan McGregor as Cricket, David Bradley as Geppetto, and Gregory Mann as Pinocchio. Other cast members include Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, Burn Gorman, Christoph Waltz and Tilda Swinton.

The film will be released on the streaming service in December, 2022.

Guillermo del Toro's Star-Studded Cast for 'Pinocchio' Movie at Netflix Has Been Announced!

Oscar-winning filmmaker Guillermo del Toro is hard at work on a Pinocchio movie for Netflix and the star-studded cast has been revealed!

The new adaptation of the classic tale will be a stop-motion animated musical movie. Set during the rise of Fascism in Mussolini’s Italy, del Toro‘s Pinocchio is a story of love and disobedience as Pinocchio struggles to live up to his father’s expectations.

Newcomer Gregory Mann is playing the title role, Ewan McGregor will play Cricket, and Harry Potter‘s David Bradley is Geppetto.

Also in the cast are Cate Blanchett, Tilda Swinton, Christoph Waltz, Finn Wolfhard, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson, and Burn Gorman.

“After years of pursuing this dream project, I found my perfect partner in Netflix,” Guillermo said in a statement. “We have spent a long time curating a remarkable cast and crew and have been blessed by continuous support from Netflix to quietly and carefully soldier on, barely missing a beat. We all love and practice animation with great passion and believe it to be the ideal medium to retell this classic story in a completely new way.”

Guillermo is directing the movie with Fantastic Mr. Fox‘s Mark Gustafson. He wrote the script with Patrick McHale and the song lyrics with Katz, with music by Alexandre Desplat, who also is writing the score.
