Americans are watching a ton of television and movies!

The Top 10 most streamed programs of the week from August 28 to September 3, 2023 has been revealed, via Nielsen.

The company has revealed how Americans are spending their time watching TV and movies, using data from Nielsen Streaming Content Ratings (Amazon Prime, AppleTV+, Disney+, HBO Max, Hulu, Paramount+, Peacock and Netflix), Nielsen National TV Panel, U.S. Viewing through Television.

This week’s No. 1 most-streamed program is actually a TV show that ended several years ago, while a few new shows and movies are creeping up to the top spot.

Ellen Pompeo might star in Grey’s Anatomy, but she isn’t quite down for revisiting her earliest seasons on the show in the present.

The 53-year-old actress began portraying Dr. Meredith Grey back in 2008, and said farewell to the character for a while earlier this year.

During a recent interview, she revealed that her 12-year-old daughter Stella is diving into the show, which almost became a fun mother-daughter bonding moment. However, it came to a sudden stop after they only got a few episodes in.

Grey’s Anatomy almost wasn’t Grey’s Anatomy.

While ABC’s top primetime drama was ultimately named that, which took inspiration from the medical encyclopedia of the same name, it was almost named something else entirely.

On Saturday (May 27), it was announced that former co-stars Ellen Pompeo and Katherine Heigl will be reuniting for season 18 of Variety’s Actors On Actors.

This will mark the first time Ellen and Katherine have reunited in public since Katherine left Grey’s in 2010. Last year, Ellen made some rare comments about Katherine.

Twice a year, Variety pairs together actors to engage in intimate one-on-one conversations about their careers and lives.
