Alanis Morissette showed up to support the cast and crew at the opening night of the musical on Wednesday night (September 14) at the Pantages Theatre in Hollywood.

The Grammy-winning singer, whose music is featured in the show, walked the carpet alongside Heidi Blickenstaff and the rest of the cast.

“Last night was epically dreamy, to say the very least. I’m so grateful for these extraordinary people with whom I get to share this moment. Broadway Star Heidi Blickenstaff to Reprise Role in 'Jagged Little Pill' National Tour

Heidi Blickenstaff is heading out on the road to star in the upcoming national tour of the Tony-winning musical Jagged Little Pill!

The beloved Broadway actress previously played the role of Mary Jane Healy during the show’s return after the pandemic shutdown.

Heidi took over the role from her Tony-nominated friend Elizabeth Stanley, who was on maternity leave at the time. Then, they shared the role when she returned to the stage. The show abruptly closed in December 2021 due to cases of COVID-19 that were detected backstage.

Jagged Little Pill is a new musical inspired by the themes and raw emotions laid bare in Alanis Morissette’s seminal album of the same name. The Healys appear to be a picture-perfect suburban family — but looks can be deceiving. When the cracks beneath the surface begin to show, they must choose between maintaining the status quo or facing harsh truths about themselves, their community, and the world around them.

The national tour kicks off in September in Las Vegas and then will move to Los Angeles for a three-week run. 20 more cities are scheduled through August 2023. Get tickets now!

Broadway's 'Jagged Little Pill' Announces New Stars for Reopening - Watch Them Perform on 'GMA'

The new stars of the Broadway musical Jagged Little Pill have been announced ahead of the show’s reopening next month!

Tony nominees Elizabeth Stanley and Celia Rose Gooding will not be featured in the reopening cast when the show returns to Broadway on October 21.

Heidi Blickenstaff and Morgan Dudley have been cast as Mary Jane Healy and Frankie Healy, respectively.

Elizabeth is currently on maternity leave and will return to the show in November while Celia has left the cast after landing the role of Uhura in the Paramount+ series Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.

Returning original cast members include Kathryn Gallagher, Derek Klena, Sean Allan Krill, Lauren Patten, and Antonio Cipriano.

“I am very excited for Elizabeth having become a mother!” Alanis Morissette said in a statement. “And thrilled that she is able to return to the role of Mary Jane in a way that cares for this deeply important chapter of her personal journey – by sharing the role with Heidi, who herself is a mom. It takes a village to raise a child, and it takes a Broadway village to support a mother. This level of support is exciting, collaborative and path-clearing for moms – to know that they can remain expressed and connected with their artistic community, while embracing the priority and intimacy of motherhood.”
