Released 20 years ago, Freaky Friday is a beloved movie that started a long-lasting friendship between its stars Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan. However, it almost looked very different!

The movie is such a hit that a sequel was commissioned earlier this year, and both Jamie and Lindsay are expected to return for it.

With renewed interest in the movie, several of its stars and others who worked on it got together with The Hollywood Reporter and opened up about some juicy behind-the-scenes secrets.

For instance, we learned that the movie almost featured two entirely different actresses in the lead roles. Additionally, a big plot point involving Gwen Stefani was going to center the script.

Chad Michael Murry opened up about getting cast and revealed that one of his scenes that still has his dad jealous to this day.

We even got some hints about what the sequel might look like!

Ever since the horror classic franchise’s kick-off in 1978 with the original Halloween film by John Carpenter starring Jamie Lee Curtis, the hit series has since added nearly a dozen remakes and sequels along the way.

While many of the sequels did not fare nearly as well as the original with critics, some of the more recent reboots and retellings of the tale have brought a new energy and appreciation to the ongoing film series.

In case you didn’t know, militant group Hamas targeted Israeli civilians at a music festival on October 7. They killed more than 1,400 people and also took hostages.

Following that grim day, more than 700 Hollywood figures, including Chris Pine and Jamie Lee Curtis, signed an open letter condemning Hamas and supporting Israel.

The Israeli government declared war on Hamas in response to the violence, and now, Israeli airstrikes have killed more than 2,800 innocent Palestinian civilians.

More than one million people in Gaza were instructed to evacuate by Israel, leading to a severe humanitarian crisis there.

On October 20, 55 celebrities, including Dua Lipa and Andrew Garfield, signed a letter addressed to President Joe Biden asking him to call for a ceasefire.

A variety of singers, actors, and comedians have taken to social media to share passionate statements on the subject. Some have shown support specifically for Israel or Palestine, while others have expressed a desire for peace all around.

More than 700 Hollywood figures, including Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, and Jamie Lee Curtis, have signed an open letter condemning Hamas and supporting Israel.

The letter was released on Thursday (October 12) by the nonprofit Creative Community For Peace and calls for the entertainment industry to use their power to back Israel and speak out against Hamas following recent attacks that have killed over 1,000 Israelis.

The two actors co-starred in the movie True Lies 29 years ago and met up at an event over the weekend for his nonprofit After-School All-Stars.
