'Dune' Could Still End Up in Theaters & Not Stream on HBO Max - Here's How

Dune producers and director Denis Villeneuve are not happy with Warner Bros’ decision to move the movie to HBO Max for streaming in October 2021, foregoing a major wide release.

If you missed it, HBO Max and Warner Bros. struck a deal to have every one of their movies stream on the platform, in addition to being released in theaters simultaneously.

Now, a source is speaking out about what might happen with Dune and Godzilla Vs Kong specifically.

According to Deadline, “Legendary is in a big fight that might result in lawsuits after it financed 75% of tentpoles ‘Dune’ and ‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’ and was completely blindsided. Rumors have the solution to that breach being to preserve ‘Dune’ as a traditional theatrical to preserve its franchise potential and since its October 1 release date falls well after the estimated late spring date when Covid vaccines should achieve herd immunity. ‘Godzilla Vs. Kong’ might stay an HBO Max hybrid in its May 21 slot, but only if Warner Bros. makes a deal with Legendary that uses as a base the $250 million value established when the film was shopped earlier to Netflix.”

The reason Dune producers are not happy with the streaming decision is reportedly because they believe it could hurt the ability to make the film into a franchise.

Here’s what he had to say…

On how he differs from his characters on Game of Thrones or Aquaman: “I may look big and tough, but I’m not. I’m nothing like Khal Drogo. I’m not even the king of my own house! I’m absolutely terrified of my wife.”

On the importance of family in 2020: “We’ve all gotten so much closer. My wife is very sophisticated and smart and our kids and I are kind of like animals that need to be trained a little better. I’m constantly a work in progress, and I’ve just been trying to get better as a father and a husband.”

On crying when daughter Lola turned 13 and his fear of her dating: “I’m not going to do well with it. I’ll just hate it if she brings home some dips–t bad boy. I’m like, ‘If you find a man who treats you better than I [treat Lisa Bonet], good luck!’”

On trying yoga with wife Lisa Bonet: “So I tried yoga the other day, and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life. I’d rather squat a car. Climbing El Capitan would be easier than doing two hours of yoga. I can’t bend over anymore! My hamstrings are so tight. It’s pathetic. I remember one time I was all yoked out for Conan the Barbarian, and I was in a yoga class with all these older ladies in Topanga and everyone was just holding their arms up and I was like, ‘This is so hard!’”

He also opened up about wearing the color pink.

Fortune Feimster Once Passed Shirtless Jason Momoa While He Was Broken Down On The Highway

Just last month, Jason Momoa got stranded after his car broke down on the side of a highway.

The Aquaman star headed to social media to share his experience of what it was like for him and a friend as they waited for a tow.

Turns out, that one of the people who passed Jason on the side of the road was comedian Fortune Feimster and she recalled what happened during her appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Fortune explained that she had spotted “these two big mans on the side of the interstate, broken down. Middle of nowhere, there’s only like a prison and that’s it. And I see this super-buff dude, he’s got a man-bun, he’s shirtless, and he has these crazy black-and-white striped pants on. I’m like, ‘Did some hot guy escape from prison? What’s happening?’”

While she didn’t see his face, she did have a hunch it could be Jason.

“I turned to my partner and I’m like, ‘Man-bun, shirtless, ripped, crazy pants… I think that was Jason Momoa’,” she shared – and it was!

Fortune then shared her findings on social media about the chance drive-by.

“Every straight woman alive was like [shouting], ‘Why didn’t you stop?!’ But, like, what am I gonna do for Jason Momoa? Like, spit in his gas tank and make his van start? I can’t help him out,” she shared in her video.

Fortune and her partner, Jacquelyn Smith, just got married!
