Jesse Lee Soffer is addressing his Chicago P.D. exit.

The 38-year-old star, who appeared on 189 episodes of the show, is set to leave the hit series, and he opened up in a new interview about his decision.

“I’ve thought so hard about how to answer this question — and there’s no good answer,” he told Variety.

Jesse Lee Soffer‘s run on Chicago P.D. is officially over.

The 38-year-old actor, who announced his exit at the end of the summer, exited the show in tonight’s episode.

“I want to thank the incredible fans for their unwavering support during the past 10 years and want to express my deepest gratitude to Dick Wolf and everyone at Wolf Entertainment,” Jesse shared in a statement about his exit from the One Chicago franchise.

He added at the time, “To create this hour drama week after week has been a labor of love by everyone who touches the show. I will always be proud of my time as Det. Jay Halstead.”

Jesse Lee Soffer to Exit 'Chicago PD' After Season 10; Just Four Original Series Regulars Remain

Jesse Lee Soffer has announced that he is leaving Chicago PD after the upcoming 10th season.

The 38-year-old actor has appeared in all 187 episodes of the hit NBC series and he will exit the show sometime in the fall, according to Variety.

Jesse said in a statement, “I want to thank the incredible fans for their unwavering support during the past 10 years and want to express my deepest gratitude to Dick Wolf and everyone at Wolf Entertainment, Peter Jankowski, Matt Olmstead, Derek Haas, Michael Brandt, Rick Eid, Gwen Sigan, NBC, Universal Television, my fellow castmates and our incredible crew. To create this hour drama week after week has been a labor of love by everyone who touches the show. I will always be proud of my time as Det. Jay Halstead.”

Only four actors who were series regulars in the first season will remain with the show in the future.

'Chicago' TV Stars Jesse Lee Soffer & Torrey DeVitto Split

Jesse Lee Soffer and Torrey DeVitto, who met after starring in two of NBC’s Chicago shows, have ended their romantic relationship.

Jesse, the star of Chicago P.D., and Torrey, the star of Chicago Med, started dating last summer, but Us Weekly reports that they have split.

“The pair are still friends but are both single,” a source close to the actors told the outlet.

Torrey has deleted photos of her trip to Scotland with Jesse from her Instagram account.

NBC's Stars From Returning Shows Attend 2019 Upfronts!

The stars of Manifest and New Amsterdam step out for NBC’s Upfronts press junket on Monday morning (May 13) in New York City.

Josh Dallas and Melissa Roxburgh were on hand to represent Manifest while Ryan Eggold, Janet Montgomery, and Freema Agyeman were there to support New Amsterdam. Both shows are returning for second seasons!

The stars from many other returning shows were in attendance at the event!

Jesse Lee Soffer & Torrey DeVitto Couple Up for SPiN Paddle Battle Event!

Cute new couple Jesse Lee Soffer and Torrey DeVitto pose for a photo while attending the Cast Paddle Battle at SPiN on Sunday (September 30) in Chicago, Ill.

Twelve cast members from the three Chicago-set shows – Chicago Fire, Chicago PD, and Chicago Med – turned out to participate in an epic ping pong competition to benefit The 100 Club of Chicago.

Jesse is on Chicago PD and played with cast-mates Marina Squerciati, Tracy Spiridakos, and executive producer Eriq La Salle while Torrey is one of the stars of Chicago Med and she played with co-stars Nick Gehlfuss, Cesar Jamie, and Norma Kuhling.

Chicago Fire’s team, which consisted of Jesse Spencer, David Eigenberg, Eamonn Walker, and Joe Minoso, won the team tournament.
