J.K. Rowling Condemns Activist Actors for Leaking Her Home Address Amid Trans Controversy

J.K. Rowling is speaking out.

The Harry Potter author spoke out on social media regarding trolls who leaked her home address, inciting death threats amid her controversial comments about the transgender community.

“Last Friday, my family’s address was posted on Twitter by three activist actors who took pictures of themselves in front of our house, carefully positioning themselves to ensure that our address was visible,” she wrote.

“I want to say a massive thank you to everybody who reported the image to @TwitterSupport. Your kindness and decency made all the difference to my family and me. I’d also like to thank @PoliceScotland for their support and assistance in this matter,” she continued.

“I implore those people who retweeted the image with the address still visible, even if they did so in condemnation of these people’s actions, to delete it,” she added.

She added that she assumed the trolls doxxing her “would intimidate me out of speaking up for women’s sex-based rights. They should have reflected on the fact that I’ve now received so many death threats I could paper the house with them, and I haven’t stopped speaking out. Perhaps – and I’m just throwing this out there – the best way to prove your movement isn’t a threat to women, is to stop stalking, harassing and threatening us.”

“We are aware of this incident and police enquiries are ongoing,” a police spokesperson said to the Evening Standard.

The news comes at the same time as an update about J.K. Rowling‘s appearance in an upcoming Harry Potter HBO Max special.

Rupert Grint Reveals Why He Spoke Out In Support of the Transgender Community After JK Rowling's Comments

Rupert Grint is opening up about his comments following JK Rowling‘s own comments towards the transgender community.

During an interview with Esquire, the 32-year-old actor revealed why he felt he was called to say something instead of remaining silent.

“I am hugely grateful [for] everything that she’s done. I think that she’s extremely talented, and I mean, clearly, her works are genius,” he first says. “But yeah, I think also you can have huge respect for someone and still disagree with things like that.”

Rupert added that not saying anything wasn’t an option for him.

“Sometimes silence is even louder,” he admits. “I felt like I had to because I think it was important to. I mean, I don’t want to talk about all that…Generally, I’m not an authority on the subject,” he collects himself again. “Just out of kindness, and just respecting people. I think it’s a valuable group that I think needs standing up for.”

Rupert was one of the many Harry Potter stars who did speak out following her comments, joining Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson, and just recently, Ralph Fiennes, who played Voldemort in the franchise.
