Dove Cameron displays her trophy in the press room at the 2018 Daytime Creative Arts Emmy Awards held at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium on Friday night (April 27) in Pasadena, Calif.

The 22-year-old actress and singer won her first Emmy award for Outstanding Performer in a Children’s, Preschool Children’s or Educational and Informational Program for her work on the Disney Channel show Liv & Maddie: Cali Style.

Also in attendance were Zac & Mia co-stars Kian Lawley and Anne Winters, who also won her first Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Digital Daytime Drama Series for her work in the Netflix show.

Kian Lawley has been fired from 20th Century Fox’s film The Hate U Give after a video of the actor that included racist comments resurfaced.

The film company now plans to recast the 22-year-old YouTube star’s role.

“Due to the controversy surrounding his past comments and behavior, Kian Lawley will no longer appear in The Hate U Give. The studio plans to recast the role of Chris and reshoot scenes as needed,” a spokesperson for the studio told Variety.

In the clip, Kian can be heard speaking the N-word and other racial slurs. “We’re all black drinking purple Kool-aid and eating Kentucky fried motherf–king chicken,” he says. (The video, which contains offensive language, can be seen in full here).

Kian was originally going to play the boyfriend of the movie’s lead actress, Amandla Stenberg. Based on Angela Thomas‘ novel of the same name, focusing on race and police brutality, the film also stars Issa Rae, Regina Hall, Russell Hornsby, Algee Smith, Lamar Johnson, and Common.

Zoey Deutch and Halston Sage stepped out for the big premiere of their new film Before I Fall.

The ladies were joined on the carpet by their co-stars Liv Hewson, Kian Lawley, Elena Kampouris, Cynthy Wu, and Medalion Rahimi at the Directors Guild Of America on Wednesday (March 1) in Los Angeles.

Zoey Deutch and director Ry Russo-Young keep close together at the premiere of Before I Fall during the 2017 Sundance Film Festival on Saturday (January 21) in Park City, Utah.

The two joined the other cast on the carpet — Halston Sage, Elena Kampouris, Logan Miller, Medalion Rahimi, Jennifer Beals, Cynthy Wu, Liv Hewson and Kian Lawley — for the premiere event, as well as author Lauren Olivier.

“Sam’s journey was one I could really use to ask those deeper questions about what it is to be human and how we live our lives,” Ry shared in a new interview about the movie.

She adds, “I thought that was really intense and that we should all be asking ourselves those questions no matter what age we are.”
