Pitch, Fox’s new television that aired 10 episodes this year, has been cancelled by the network.

The news was confirmed by the show’s executive producer Kevin Falls, who tweeted, “I’m sorry to tell you that @PITCHonFOX will not be getting a second season. #Pitch.” Kevin continued, “Thank you to our faithful fans for trying so hard to save us. @PitchStreetTeam #Pitch @PITCHonFOX.”

Kylie Bunbury, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Ali Larter, Mark Consuelos, Dan Lauria, and more starred on the show about the first female professional baseball player in the MLB.

The series premiere of the highly anticipated series Pitch debuts tonight on Fox and you can meet the cast members right here!

Pitch is the dramatic and inspirational story of a young pitcher who becomes the first woman to play Major League Baseball. A beautiful, tough and gifted athlete, Ginny Baker (Kylie Bunbury of Under the Dome fame) is vaulted into instant fame when she’s called up by the San Diego Padres to make her Major League debut.

Also starring in the series is fan favorite Mark-Paul Gosselaar and Heroes alum Ali Larter.

The 27-year-old actress was joined at the event by the other stars of Pitch including Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Ali Larter, Mo McRae, Meagan Holder, Tim Jo, Dan Lauria, Mark Consuelos and Michael Beach.

Pitch premieres on September 22nd at 10 PM on Fox.

“There’s still potential for a Lethal Weapon 5,” executive producer Dan Lin said during their panel discussion (via Slash). “The film department was gracious to let us extend the series on television but there may be a Lethal Weapon 5 in the future but for now the focus is 100% on the TV show.”
