Ruth Negga is chic and sophisticated while striking a pose at the 2019 Franca Sozzani Award Ceremony held at the Belmond Cipriani Hotel on Tuesday (August 27) in Venice, Italy.
The 37-year-old Preacher actress was joined at the event by Colin Firth and his wife Livia Firth, Rupert Everett and Iman who was honored with the Franca Sozzani Award.
The Franca Sozzani Award was established by the family of the late Vogue Italia editor in chief Franca Sozzani. The award honors women for their artistic careers as well as their social commitment.
“Iman’s work has disrupted the fashion industry in a way similar to Franca’s: bold, innovative and inclusive,” Sozzani‘s son, photographer and film director Francesco Carrozzini told WWD. “Using her platform to the best of its potential, Iman’s work from lobbying the CFDA for an increase of diversity on the runway to impactful humanitarian work, displays her true passion and focus. We are truly honored for her to accept the Franca Sozzani Award.”
In addition to celebrating Iman, the award also marks the beginning of The Franca Sozzani Fund for Preventive Genomics at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard.
FYI: Iman is wearing a Valentino gown paired with Chopard jewelry.
