Jessica Williams Joins 'Love Life' Season 2 with William Jackson Harper!

The second season of the HBO Max series Love Life will feature an entirely new cast and more stars have been announced!

We already knew that The Good Place‘s William Jackson Harper will be replacing Anna Kendrick as the main focus of the season and now it’s been announced that Jessica Williams will play his love interest.

William plays “Marcus Watkins as as he comes out of a years-long relationship with the woman he thought was going to be his person. The rug pulled out from under him, he is plunged back into the search for the romantic fulfillment that he thought he had already found.”

Deadline reports that Jessica will play “Mia Hines, the beautiful, intelligent and somewhat unknowable object of Marcus’s affection. After forming a connection early in the season, she challenges Marcus’s ideas about himself and how he moves through the world.”

Jessica is best known for her work in 2 Dope Queens and Booksmart.

Also joining the cast is Chris “Comedian CP” Powell as “the charming and gregarious Yogi, who is committed to his girlfriend and two children, but lives vicariously through Marcus’s exploits, offering unsolicited advice.”

Anna Kendrick and some other actors from season two will appear occasionally in season two.

HBO Max is renewing Love Life!

The romantic comedy anthology series is getting a second season, Deadline confirmed on Thursday (June 11).

The anthology series is executive produced by Anna Kendrick, who also stars in the show as Darby.

Season two will “remain set in New York City but will focus on a new character’s journey – one which explores what happens when you’ve lived your whole life knowing who your soulmate is, only to find out years into a marriage that it’s not the right fit at all.”

The new season will also “key off characters in season one, with Kendrick’s Darby appearing occasionally.”
