'Love Victor' Series Reveals What Simon Spier Is Up to Now

The new series Love Victor is now streaming on Hulu and it’s a spinoff of the beloved movie Love Simon, which was released in theaters in 2018.

So, how does the show connect to Nick Robinson‘s character Simon Spier? We have some spoilers for you below!

The new series is about a boy named Victor (Michael Cimino) who moves to Atlanta with his family and attends Creekwood High School, the same school where Simon attended. He’s afraid to tell anyone that he is gay and reaches out to Simon on social media, explaining his story and seeking advice. They become pen pals and Nick provides voiceovers throughout the season while narrating their correspondences.

Hulu Releases First Look at 'Love, Simon' Spinoff Series 'Love, Victor' - Watch Now!

The first trailer for the upcoming Love, Victor series has been released!

Hulu released the first-look trailer at their upcoming spinoff series from the 2018 movie Love, Simon.

Love, Victor focuses on lead Michael Cimino‘s character Victor, a new student at Creekwood High School — the same high school as the movie — on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation.

The series was originally supposed to air on Disney+, but due to creative differences, it was moved to Hulu.

Original movie star Nick Robinson will narrate the half-hour series in addition to serving as producer.

The show also stars Ana Ortiz, Sophia Bush, James Martinez, Isabella Ferreira, Mateo Fernandez, Rachel Naomi Hilson, Bebe Wood, George Sear, Anthony Turpel, and Mason Gooding.

Love, Victor will premiere on June 19th!

The Lizzie McGuire star posted a screenshot of a headline concerning Love, Simon‘s recent series move from Disney+ to Hulu, reportedly due to not being “family friendly” enough, which has fans speculating about what she means.

Love, Simon TV Show Pulled From Disney+ as It’s Not ‘Family-Friendly,’ the headline reads.

“Sounds familiar…” she wrote, circling the headline.

If you didn’t know, Hilary‘s highly anticipated reboot of the Lizzie McGuire series was put on hold to be reworked in a new creative direction, suggesting that her show might have received similar feedback.

'Love, Simon' Series Makes Official Move from Disney Plus to Hulu & Gets New Title!

Disney Plus’ Love, Simon series is making a move!

The show was originally set to air on Disney Plus but will now launch on Hulu instead, according to Variety.

In addition, the series will now be titled Love, Victor. It focuses on lead Michael Cimino‘s character Victor, a new student at Creekwood High School — the same high school as the movie — on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation.

The 10-episode first season will debut on Hulu in June, which is Pride Month. According to an individual with knowledge of the situation, Hulu has opened a writers’ room to begin fleshing out a potential second season. Sources also note that Disney felt many issues explored on the show, including alcohol use and sexual exploration, would not fit in with the family-friendly content on Disney Plus.

Original movie star Nick Robinson will narrate the half-hour series in addition to serving as producer. Sophia Bush is also set to star in a recurring role in Love, Victor.

The new Disney+ show will still be called Love, Simon, though it will follow a different young character named Victor played by lead Michael Cimino. The show will be set in the same world as the movie, and original movie star Nick Robinson will narrate the half-hour series in addition to serving as producer.

Sophia will play Veronica, Mia’s (Rachel Naomi Hilson) father’s new girlfriend. Chic and sophisticated, runs a non-profit devoted to helping women. Friendly and easy to like but can be strong-willed and tough when she needs to be, Deadline reports.

'Annabelle Comes Home' Star Michael Cimino To Star in Disney Plus's 'Love Simon' Series

Michael Cimino has signed on to star in the lead role of Disney Plus’s Love, Simon series.

The Annabelle Comes Home actor will play Victor, a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation.

When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school, Variety reports.

Michael joins Ana Ortiz, who will play Victor’s mother Isabel, and original movie star Nick Robinson, who will narrate the half-hour series in addition to serving as producer.

Other young stars joining the series include: James Martinez as Armando, Victor’s regular blue collar “guy’s guy” father who loves his family deeply and works hard for his family; Isabella Ferreira as Pilar, Victor’s sullen younger sister in the throws of teenage angst, and Mateo Fernandez will make his acting debut as Adrian, Victor’s adorable, good-natured little brother.

Johnny Sequoyah as Mia, Victor’s whip-smart friend with a quick wit and easy laugh; Bebe Wood as Lake, Mia’s quirky and social media-obsessed best friend; George Sear as Benji, Victor’s confident and charming classmate; Anthony Turpel as Felix, Victor’s lanky, awkward new neighbor; and Mason Gooding as Andrew, Creekwood’s cocky and popular basketball-loving jock have also joined the series.

The series is set to begin production this month in Los Angeles.
