Raya and the Last Dragon is No. 1!

The Disney film opened bringing in an estimated $8.6 million during its first weekend at the box office, THR reported Sunday (March 7).

The film’s soft landing was “likely due to the refusal of several key chains — including giant Cinemark Theatres — to carry the fantasy-adventure. That’s because they wanted more generous terms since Raya debuted simultaneously on Disney+ for $30,” according to the outlet.

Overseas, Raya and the Last Dragon opened to $17.6 million from 32 markets for a global total of $26.2 million.

The movie takes us on an exciting, epic journey to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where Raya, a lone warrior, must track down the legendary last dragon to stop an evil force that has returned after 500 years to once again threaten her homeworld. Find out who voices each role!

Critics definitely think the movie is worth seeing as it currently has a 95% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The brand new trailer for Raya and the Last Dragon is finally here!

Here’s a synopsis of the upcoming film: Raya and the Last Dragon takes us on an exciting, epic journey to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.

The film features an all-star voice cast including Kelly Marie Tran as the intrepid warrior Raya, Awkwafina as the legendary dragon, Sisu, Gemma Chan as Raya’s nemesis, Namaari, Daniel Dae Kim as Raya’s visionary father, Benja, and Sandra Oh as Namaari’s powerful mother, Virana. Fresh Off the Boat is celebrating a huge milestone!

The cast of the Asian-American comedy series stepped out to celebrate the show’s 100th episode on Wednesday night (February 27) at Fox Studios in Los Angeles.

Constance Wu looked so fashionable while attending An Evening With Fresh Off The Boat!

The 36-year-old actress stepped out for the panel discussion on Monday night (December 10) at The Paley Center in Beverly Hills, California.

She was joined by the rest of the cast including Lucille Soong, Hudson Yang, Ian Chen, Randall Park, and Forrest Wheeler.

During the event, Constance opened up about the best part of her character Jessica Huang.

“One of my favorite things about Jessica is that she has a little bit different decorum but she doesn’t think that’s a reason for her not to have a voice,” Constance explained.

The 46-year-old Searching star and the 36-year-old Crazy Rich Asians actor and his pregnant wife Shelby Rabara were among the many attendees at the 2018 Unforgettable Gala, Kore Asian Media’s annual Asian American awards ceremony, celebrating creativity, diversity and growth, on Saturday (December 8) at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, Calif.
