Octavia Spencer‘s 2019 horror movie Ma has become a cult classic and now the film’s director, Tate Taylor, is talking about sequel ideas!
The movie ended with a cliffhanger ending in which Ma’s death was implied, but we never actually saw if she died or not.
Tate, who also directed Octavia in The Help and Get On Up, now has an idea for how to continue the story!

Fans of the movie Ma have been creating fun memes this week in which they insert “Ma” into famous movie titles and photoshop Octavia Spencer into the posters for those films… and she’s loving it!
The Oscar-winning actress has been sharing her favorite memes including ones like Ma Ma Land, Marasite, Call Ma By Your Name, The Greatest ShowMA, The IrishMA, and more.
An Instagram account called @dontmakemedrinkalone is dedicated to “preserving Ma’s contributions to film and the arts” and they’ve been sharing a bunch of fun posters featuring the character. Octavia even follows the account!

Ma was released in May 2019 and was a hit at the box office, grossing $61 million worldwide on a $5 million budget.
In Ma, Octavia plays a lonely woman named Sue Ann who befriends a group of teenagers looking for someone to buy them alcohol. But as Ma’s hospitality starts to curdle into obsession, what began as a teenage dream turns into a terrorizing nightmare, and Ma’s place goes from the best place in town to the worst place on earth. The 40-year-old actor took to Twitter over the weekend to tease fans about that moment in the movie.

SPOILER ALERT – If you haven’t seen the movie and are wondering what happens, Octavia Spencer‘s character Sue Ann is seeking out revenge on the people who bullied her in high school, including Luke‘s character Ben. She has drugged Ben, strapped him to a bed, and taken off all his clothes. At one point, she grabs his penis and threatens to cut it off, though she doesn’t.
Most fans think that Luke wore a prosthetic or had a body double for the scene.

The new Octavia Spencer horror movie Ma is in theaters now and you might be wondering if you should stick around after the credits for an additional scene.
We can confirm that there is nothing after the credits, so feel free to leave after the movie is over!
Despite all of the competition at the box office this weekend, Ma is still expected to have a strong opening weekend.
Movie experts have predicted that Ma is going to earn around $15-$20 million this weekend, a pretty great amount for a movie with a $5 million budget!
Octavia Spencer walks the red carpet at the premiere of her new movie Ma on Thursday night (May 16) at the Regal LA Live in downtown Los Angeles.
The Oscar-winning actress was joined at the event by her co-stars Allison Janney, Juliette Lewis, Diana Silvers, Corey Fogelmanis, McKaley Miller, Kyanna Simone Simpson, Gianni Paolo, Dante Brown, and Tanyell Waivers.
Director Tate Taylor was there as well. He previously worked with Octavia and Allison on The Help!

Octavia Spencer makes an appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, airing on Tuesday (May 14), and talks about playing a villain in her brand new horror film Ma!
“I love crazy, it is wonderfully fun playing crazy,” the 46-year-old Oscar-winning actress tells Ellen.
Octavia also talks about filming The Witches in London, how she’s attracted to men with British accents, and being spotted backstage during Beyoncé‘s Netflix film Homecoming.
“I’m really close to her mom and stepdad,” Octavia says. “And we were guests of theirs for Coachella. And after the concert it was like this big outdoor barbecue, expect that everybody was famous.”
“It’s on my bucket list to just go hang out with her for a couple days and learn some dance moves and just do ‘em for the rest of my life,” Octavia adds.
