The Empire State Building turned pink with a little help from Mean Girls stars Tina Fey, Renee Rapp, Angourie Rice and Christopher Briney!

On Wednesday (January 10), several stars from the new musical movie took over the iconic New York City landmark for an exciting lighting ceremony.

The quartet did so in partnership with Girls, Inc. – a nonprofit organization dedicated to uplifting young women.

Tina Fey Reveals the Reason Why the Original Stars of 'Mean Girls' Didn't Participate in the Musical Movie

Tina Fey is explaining why the 2004 Mean Girls cast didn’t reunite for the new musical movie.

During an interview with The New York Times, the 53-year-old actress and writer shared that there were efforts to get the original stars involved, but it didn’t work out.

She also discussed the possibility of a Mean Girls sequel with Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amanda Seyfried, and Lacey Chabert.

'Mean Girls' (2024) Cast Celebrates Musical Movie at NYC Premiere - Red Carpet Photos Revealed!

The cast of the new Mean Girls musical movie celebrated the film at a red carpet premiere in the Big Apple, just down the street from where the Broadway show was performed!

Angourie Rice and Renee Rapp were joined by their castmates at the event on Monday night (January 8) at AMC Lincoln Square 13 in New York City.

Tina Fey and producer Lorne Michaels had a special guest join the cast – the original film’s star Lindsay Lohan!

For those who don’t know, Tina wrote the book for the Broadway musical and she wrote the screenplay for the musical movie as well. She reprises her role as Ms. Norbury in the film.

Other cast members in attendance included Auli’i Cravalho, Christopher Briney, Jaquel Spivey, Bebe Wood, Avantika, Busy Philipps, Jon Hamm with wife Anna Osceola, Mahi Alam, Allison Winn, Brian Altemus, and John El-Jor.

Megan Thee Stallion Goes Blonde, Wears Form-Fitting Purple Dress at 'Mean Girls' Premiere with Renee Rapp

Megan Thee Stallion is showing off a fierce new look at the Mean Girls musical movie premiere!

The 28-year-old rapper joined the movie’s star Renee Rapp at the red carpet premiere on Monday evening (January 8) at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City.

Megan and Renee collaborated on the song “Not My Fault” for the film’s soundtrack and the official music video was just released. Watch below!

The song is inspired by Cady Heron’s quote when she yells at Janis Ian, “You know what! It’s not my fault you’re like, in love with me, or something!”

The Mean Girls musical movie hits theaters on Friday and the original film’s star Lindsay Lohan helped celebrate at the red carpet premiere as well.

Lindsay Lohan Makes First Post-Baby Red Carpet Appearance at 'Mean Girls' Musical Movie Premiere!

Lindsay Lohan is showing her support for the new Mean Girls movie!

The 37-year-old actress looked radiant as attended the premiere of the Mean Girls musical movie on Monday evening (January 8) held at the AMC Lincoln Square Theater in New York City.

While on the pink carpet, Lindsay posed for photos with director Tina Fey, the new Regina George Renee Rapp, the new Cady Heron Angourie Rice, and SNL creator Lorne Michaels.

The premiere marks the first red carpet Lindsay has made since welcoming her first child, son Luai, with husband Bader Shammas in July 2023.

Megan Thee Stallion and Renee Rapp are teaming up for a hot new music video!

On Friday (January 5), the two stars debuted the music video for their new collab “Not My Fault,” which will be featured on the soundtrack for Renee‘s upcoming Mean Girls musical movie.

The video features several nods to the iconic 2004 film, including Megan paying homage to Regina George while wearing a cut-out white tank shirt with her purple bra exposed.

'Mean Girls' Movie Songs Revealed, 14 Tracks Cut from Broadway Musical Version

The Mean Girls movie musical is just days away and the full tracklist has been revealed!

The new version of the iconic 2004 movie is an updated take on the story, blending the original movie with the Broadway musical that premiered in 2017, and puts a fresh, current with the times spin on it.

Many fans have been wondering about the musical numbers that will be in the movie and if any of their favorites would be cut.

“The songs are sounding – It’s really a more kind of pop. And it’s a fascinating process, actually, because you kind of, in Broadway, everything has to play to the back of the house, and then movies, you can kind of come back in and things can play really intimately,” writer Tina Fey said on Late Night with Seth Meyers back in February 2023.
