Megan Fox Talks Past Interview About Michael Bay, Ponders What Would've Happened Today

Megan Fox once said that her Transformers director Michael Bay was “a nightmare to work with” and she received a lot of backlash after giving that interview.

Now, the 34-year-old actress is opening up about what might have happened if she said those things today. Amid the #MeToo movement, it’s more common for actors and actresses to speak out about being mistreated on film sets.

“It’s tricky because yes, people are more receptive to the topic. But even how I was speaking about it then, the quote in its entirety, it was almost too flippant,” Megan said in a new interview with Refinery29. “Somehow, I would have been villainized in the telling of that story even today. I wasn’t telling it in a way where I was like, Look, I’ve been wounded by this and I need you to hear it. It was more like, This happens on-set, and I followed it up by saying he’s actually so charming outside of set, which I would also have been crucified for, because it’s like, why are you defending somebody that we perceive as abusing you?”

She continued, “It’s a very complicated thing if we’re dealing with just what I said in that interview. I don’t know that it would hold up well. The idea yes, but I would have had to approach it and deliver it in a different way. Everybody’s looking for a reason to be offended. I would have pissed off a bunch of people [no matter what].”

Megan previously revealed how her firing from the Transformers franchise was a low-point in her career.

SAG-AFTRA Is Telling Actors Not to Work on Michael Bay's Pandemic Movie 'Songbird'

SAG-AFTRA, the union that represents actors, has issued a “do not work” order for the upcoming pandemic thriller Songbird, which is being produced by Michael Bay.

The movie is set “two years in a future in which the pandemic has not gone away as the virus continues to mutate,” according to Variety.

The film was planning on being made in the middle of the pandemic, but SAG-AFTRA is telling actors not to work on the film. If any member of the union does accept a job on the project, they could be disciplined. The reason for the “do not work” order is reportedly because the production company did not complete a signatory process with the union.

“As such, SAG-AFTRA members are hereby instructed to withhold any acting services or perform any covered work for this production until further notice from the union,” the union said in a statement. “Please note, accepting employment or rendering services on Songbird; may be considered a violation of Global Rule One. Violating this order may result in disciplinary action in accordance with the SAG-AFTRA Constitution.”

UPDATE: SAG-AFTRA released this statement on Friday night (July 3), “SAG-AFTRA has rescinded its Do Not Work order for the feature film Songbird and members are free to work on this production effective immediately.”

Megan Fox Once Talked About Being Sexualized by Michael Bay at 15 & The Quotes Are Going Viral Now

One of Megan Fox‘s old interviews is going viral and people are calling out both director Michael Bay and talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.

Back in 2009, Megan appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live and talked about being an extra in Bad Boys II, which was directed by Bay. Years later, they worked together on the Transformers film franchise.

“I had just turned 15 and I was an extra in Bad Boys II,” Megan said. “They were shooting this club scene and they brought me in and I was wearing a stars and stripes bikini and a red cowboy hat and, like, six-inch heels. He approved it and they said, ‘Michael, she’s 15 so you can’t sit her at the bar and she can’t have a drink in her hand.’ So his solution to that problem was to then have me dancing underneath a waterfall getting soaking wet.”

“Perfectly wholesome,” Jimmy replied while the audience laughed.

“At 15, I was in 10th grade. That’s kind of a microcosm of how Bay’s mind works,” Megan replied. Jimmy then said, “Yeah, well that’s really a microcosm of how all our minds work.”

He then added, “Some of us have the decency to repress those thoughts and pretend that they don’t exist.”

A lot of people are calling out Jimmy for his inappropriate reaction to Megan‘s comments and they’re calling out Michael for sexualizing a 15-year-old.

Here’s why Megan credits the Transformers franchise to be part of a “low-point” in her career.

Michael Bay To Produce Movie About Pandemic That Will Film During The Pandemic

Michael Bay has added his producing power to a new movie, called Songbird, that will somehow be filmed during the coronavirus pandemic.

Deadline reports that the film, which is set to start filming in the next five weeks, will actually be about a coronavirus-like pandemic as well.

Songbird is described as a found footage thriller film, and is “set two years in the future, and the pandemic has not gone away, as the virus has continued to mutate amid ongoing waves of lockdown periods.”

There are no supernatural elements, but there is the paranoia and conspiracy that adds to the genre.

The movie will be directed by Adam Mason, and the filmmakers are actually providing remote training for the actors.

Some of Hollywood’s guilds have signed off on the production, all while they’re still putting in safety protocols of their own.

On top of this movie, Jenji Kohan is also developing a quarantine film for Netflix and two of Tyler Perry‘s television shows are also set to resume filming as well.
