Michael Urie & Becki Newton's CBS Pilot 'Fun' Is Not Moving Forward

It’s sad news for Michael Urie and Becki Newton‘s CBS pilot, Fun.

According to Deadline, the network has decided not to move forward with the project which starred the former Ugly Betty co-stars.

Fun was described as a life-long love story between a brother and a sister, who always encourage each other to have fun – no matter what hardship life is currently serving up.

The show centered on the brother (Urie) returns to his Pennsylvania hometown to help his sister (Newton) run the struggling business after his emotional and devastating break-up with…show business.

Ben McKenzie Gets Support from Wife Morena Baccarin at His 'Grand Horizons' Broadway Debut Opening!

Ben McKenzie is all smiles in a suit while attending the opening night party for his Broadway debut in Grand Horizons held at The Ribbon restaurant on Thursday (January 23) in New York City.

The 41-year-old actor got support form his wife Morena Baccarin at the event as she stepped out to show her support alongside guests Kate Walsh, Edie Falco and her Nurse Jackie co-star Stephen Wallem.

Also in attendance were Ben‘s co-stars Jane Alexander, James Cromwell, Priscilla Lopez, Maulik Pancholy, Ashley Park, and Michael Urie and playwright Bess Wohl.

Here is the synopsis: Bill and Nancy have spent fifty full years as husband and wife. They practically breathe in unison, and can anticipate each other’s every sigh, snore and sneeze. But just as they settle comfortably into their new home in Grand Horizons, the unthinkable happens: Nancy suddenly wants out. As their two adult sons struggle to cope with the shocking news, they are forced to question everything they assumed about the people they thought they knew best.

Grand Horizons is currently in previews at Second Stage Theater’s Hayes Theater and opening night is on January 23. The limited run ends March 1.

America Ferrera Reacts to 'Ugly Betty' Creator Silvio Horta's Death

America Ferrera is speaking out following the death of Ugly Betty creator Silvio Horta.

Silvio died by apparent suicide at the age of 45 on Tuesday (January 7).

“I’m stunned and heartbroken to hear the devastating news of Ugly Betty creator, Silvio Horta’s death,” the 35-year-old Ugly Betty actress wrote on Instagram. “His talent and creativity brought me and so many others such joy & light.”

America Ferrera added, “I’m thinking of his family and loved ones who must be in so much pain right now- and of the whole Ugly Betty family who feel this loss so deeply.”

Her co-star Michael Urie tweeted, “I will be forever indebted to this sweet, brilliant man. 💔,” while star Vanessa Williams shared, “Still in shock after hearing the tragic news of our #uglybetty creator #silviohorta 💔 His creativity and passion will be missed by so many of us that worked with him. May he Rest In Peace.”

Star Christopher Gorham also said, “Silvio Horta gave me two of the greatest opportunities in my career with Jake 2.0 and Ugly Betty. I will be forever grateful for his creativity, his enormous heart, and his friendship. His family was his world and my heart goes out to them tonight. Let’s all take care of each other.”

Ben McKenzie Preps Broadway Debut in 'Grand Horizons' with Cast Photo Call!

Ben McKenzie is getting ready to make his Broadway debut!

The 41-year-old Gotham star joined his co-stars Ashley Park, Jane Alexander, James Cromwell and Michael Urie at their meet and greet for Second Stage Theater’s upcoming production of Grand Horizons held on Broadway at The Liberty Room at The Marriott Marquis Hotel on Wednesday (December 11) in New York City.

Grand Horizons centers on a family led by Bill and Nancy, a couple married for five decades. When Nancy suddenly walks out, their sons Brian (Urie) and Ben (McKenzie) must deal with an unexpectedly crumbling family.

30 Rock‘s Maulik Pancholy and Tony winner Priscilla Lopez complete the cast.

The show will begin previews on December 23, 2019 and officially open on January 23, 2020 at The Hayes Theater.

David Harbour, Hugh Dancy & More Support Opening Night of 'A Bright Room Called Day'!

David Harbour and Hugh Dancy keep it cool as they pose for photographs on the carpet at the opening night celebration of A Bright Room Called Day held at The Public Theater on Tuesday evening (November 19) in New York City.

The 44-year-old Stranger Things star and the 44-year-old Path star were joined at the event by Grace Gummer, Michael Urie, Miriam Shor, Brett Gelman, Bill Heck, Brian d’Arcy James, theater owner Jordan Roth, and Annaleigh Ashford along with her husband Joe Tapper.

Directed by artistic director Oskar Eustis, this new version of Pulitzer Prize winner Tony Kushner‘s first play—originally about the possibility of the Reagan counter-revolution giving rise to American fascism—shines a light on the vulnerability of American democracy today.

Performances of A Bright Room Called Day began October 29 and are scheduled through December 15.

Renee Zellweger & Finn Wittrock Strike a Pose at 'Judy' NYC Screening

Renee Zellweger and Finn Wittrock team up for a special screening of their new movie Judy!

The co-stars, ages, 50 and 34, respectively, attended the event – hosted by Harry Connick Jr. – at Crosby Street Hotel Screening Room on Monday (September 23) in New York City.
